A New Ink on Life

So Many Smiles.....Begin with Flowers

It's Wednesday so that means time to get creative with a new challenge at Stampin' Royalty! This week we are challenging you to get colourful with a fresh and fun colour combo that imediately made me think of flowers (and apparently I was not the only one,lol). So be sure to check out the fab samples from the design team and we hope you can play along with us this week:)

Not sure why but when working with these colours I felt the need to create lots of white space and clean lines. Normally I am all about sponging and destressing:) The base of the card is Whisper White then I layered on using Dimensionals, another piece of Whisper White that had been embossed with the Stripes Impressions Folder. Next I created a large Daffodil Delight flag that was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder and used the debossed side to add contracting texture.

The bold flower was made using the Blossom Punch and a few pieces from the Blossoms Builder Designer Printed Kit. I used the Paper Crimper on the Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight pieces to add even more Texture. As a fun little element I took some Lucky Limeaide Organza Ribbon (a FREE Sale A Bration choice) and curled it by wrapping it around the end of my Paper Piercer. I added a sentiment from Pettite Pairs and the inside of the card reads "...begin with you!" So cute!

With All My Heart

This week at Stampin' Royalty we are hosting my favourite type of challenge-picture inspiration! I just love being inspired by the colours, texture or a design of something. It is also fun to see what everyone else comes up with as each person is so unique in what they actually see. The design team really rocked this one, so be sure to check out their samples and I hope you find the time to play with us this week!

The wood and the striped curtains really stood out for me in this photo as well as all the white. I created a little 3x3 note card, just the perfect size to pop in my daughter's lunch:) This card was really quick and easy to create but I do like how there are several different elements and textures on it.

The Crumb Cake layer was stamped with the Woodgrain Background and then using Whisper White Craft Ink I stamped one of the images from With All My Heart (I haven't used this set in forever, but I am so glad I pulled it out:) Next I took a strip of Whisper White and using Regal Rose, Pretty and Pink and Pink Pirouette Classic Ink Pads I swiped them across the paper. Then to add another layer of texture I used the Paper Crimper. The cute heart was die cut from a piece of Wood Sheets (these are so cool) then sponged to add some depth and the "u" was also die cut from the SU! Timeless Type Sizzlets (these are great as you have letters, numbers and some shapes). Lastly I stamped on the sentiment using Early Espresso Ink.

Love You Just the Way You Are with Sprinkle Expressions

Happy February 1st, I can't belive we are already starting the second month of 2012. With Valentine's Day just around the corner we have a great theme challenge this week at Stampin Royalty; Valentines Day - It's All About Love!! Make sure you check out all the Design Teams samples this week -they are sure to inspire and we would love for you to play along.

 

Oh I just hate it when I don't get a good picture of a card-it's actually super cute in person, and I would retake the photo but I don't have the card anymore as it was one of the cards I created for Stampin' Up! Anyway let's pretend you can see the cuteness factor-okay? This is a really CAS card that starts with a Basic Gray square base and next I layered on a piece of Textured Real Red card stock. I created a little pocket to hold my "love tickets" out of Basic Gray DSP (from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack). To create the tickets I used the Postage Stamp Punch on the end of the paper then used the Ticket Corner Punch. On the Very Vanilla ticket I created the heart border by using my Real Red Marker and just inking up the hearts from one of the sentiment stamps in Sprinkled Expressions (a FREE Sale a Bration set). For the sentiment itself I used the Basic Gray and Real Red Markers, stamped it on Pink Pirouette then punched it out and popped it up with a Dimesional. The pink DSP ticket was stamped with the heart image from the set.

Reflect in The Moment with My Digital Studio

It's Wednesday and that means another great challenge at Stampin' Royalty. It also means that i am on day 3 of my Disney vacation with my family and I am sure that we are having a blast! (I hope, as it is still Sunday night here while I type this and some packing still needs to be done:)

This week is a picture Inspiration Challenge and if you have been following my blog for any amount of time, you may know that these are my favourite!

Aren't these colours just so fresh and vibrant? I was totally inspired by the flowers and decided to create a digital scrapbook page using My Digital Studio of course.


It has been awhile since I have done any MDSing so I was more than due to create this page. I am really pleased with the way it turned out because when I first started it I had no idea what I was going to make:) I started with Daffodil Delight as my base then lightened the Opacity to about 80%. The flowers are from the Field Flowers Download and they were stamped in Very Vanilla with the Opacity lightened as well. The words "reflect" and "the moment" are from the new Twitterpated Kit. I wanted to play with the reflect word so I stamped it again and mirrored the image (this is just one of the small reason I soooo LOVE MDS) then really lighten the opacity so that the word appears to be a reflection. I am just in love with all the layouts I have been seeing lately with hanging flags so I used the Flag Punch Download and resized several of them then filled them in with various patterned papers. I also used the Pear Pizzazz Bakers Twine and an Island Indigo Button.

Simply Up in the Air Over You

Yay it's Wednesday and we have a FAB colour challenge this week at Stampin' Royalty! I decided to create a very clean and simple card to showcase the colours. Be sure to check out what the other Stampin' Royalty goddesses have come up with, their samples this week are sure to inspire:)

I kkind of surprised myself with this one, as usually when Crumb Cake is involved I tend to make that the focus colour. This time however I decided the let the DSP do the work. This pattern is from the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper pack and this particular piece had alot of the challenge colours in it. I used the Labels Framelits to partially cover up one of the balloons as it had yellow in it (clever right,lol?!)

The sentiment is from the stamp set Up and Away and I added a little Small Heart punched from Crumb Cake DSP and a Pumpkin Pie button. To finish the card off I wrapped some Lucky Limeaide Bakers Twine around the top layer three times and tied it into a bow. I think this would make a great masculine Valentines:)

Fabric Butterfly Love

Good morning, Eek I am late posting today as well, but I am happy to report that hubby is feeling a little better and will hopefully return to work by Friday.

So it's Wednesday and that means a great challenge at Stampin' Royalty. This week we have a recipe challenge to use Fabric in your project. Be sure to check out the Design Teams' amazing samples and I am so jealous of those of you that have crazy sewing skills- sigh I will one day learn:) I am also going to play along with Paper Players again this week as I created this card for a friend to show my appreciation and love for her:)

So again lots of goodies from the Occasions Mini. The base of the card is Riding Hood Red and the bottom was embossed using the Textured Impressions Adorning Accents Folder. I opted to die cut my fabric with the Beautiful Butterflies Die. Before I cut the fabric I attached it to some card stock using the Sizzix Big Shot Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets. These sheets are perfect to use if you want to make sure some is adhered edge to edge. Once I cut of the butterfly I then used the smallest heart from the new Hearts Collection Framlits and cut out a portion of one of the wings. I then created a hanging heart in the center using the Small Heart Punch and Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine and popped it on to a Blushing Bride butterfly using Dimensionals.


I am just in love with the new Framelits! I used the Labels Collection on this card to make the perfect back drop for the butterfly. I first cut out one size in Lucky Limeaide then I turn the die over (cut side up, not down) on the cut out label, lined it up and ran it back through to create an embossed edge. Then I cut out
the next size down in Whisper White and embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. The stamped banner is from Take It to Heart (which also has images that match the Hearts Framelits) and the sentiment is from Loving Thoughts.

Heartfelt Wishes with Designer Cuts

We have a sketch challenge this week at Stampin' Royalty and we would really love to have you join us:) Be sure to check out all the Design Team samples for some amazing inspiration, they really out did themselves this week.

Oh my gosh there is so much going on, on this card,lol. I used LOTS of new goodies on this one:) This base of the card is Blushing Bride and I then layered on a piece of Crumb Cake that I debossed with the Heart Pressed Letter Press Plate. I first inked up the plate with VersaMark to create some depth with design. The three layered Very Vanilla pieces are actually from the new Designer Cuts Cards. These are gorgeous die cut cards that are already to add a few finishing touches too, but for my card I decided to cut one up and make panels with it.

In this pictures you can get a better look at the middle panel. I first embossed it with the new Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then sponged it with Crumb Cake and Tea Stain Inks then sprayed a generous amount of Blushing Bride Smooch Spritz. Next I used some Pear Pizzazz Pleated Satin Ribbon, layered on some hearts from the Fasionable Hearts Embosslit and finished it off with Calypso Coral Bakers Twine and a Bitty Button. The whole card was spritzed using the Colour Spritzer Tool and a Cherry Cobbler Marker. You may notice the teeny tiny pink rhinestones-are they so cute? They are from a new Designer Printed Kit called Blossom Builders. This kit is full of die cut flowers that make the  perfect accents to any type of project. (I will have some samples to show you in the coming weeks:)

A Colourful Mixed Bunch

Oh my gosh this post is going up super late.  My computer died on Christmas day, thankfully it was just the power source so it got fixed and I am now able to get back to the land of the internet,lol. Trust me it was a rough few days, but at least it forced me to focus on other things:)

Anyway back to this weeks Challenge at Stampin' Royalty. It is a great colour challenge and I was happy to use a few new items from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalogue (available to order from Jan. 4) Be sure to check out the gorgeous samples from the Design Team and we would love to have you play along.

Here's my card:

I couldn't seem to get a good picture no matter what I tried, but it is very pretty IRL:) The base of the card is Rose Red and then I layered on some matching DSP. Next I added a strip of Pretty in Pink DSP and topped it with the yummy Chocolate Chip Dotted Scallop Ribbon.


I could help but to sneak in a little Lucky Limeaide:) The fun flowers are from the new set Mixed Bunch and it was punched out with the matching punch called Blossom. Love them so much! The sentiment is also a new from the the set Loving Thoughts (this is definately another must have).

Santa Gum Holder

This week at Stampin' Royalty we have a great Theme Challenge of Winter/Christmas! We would love to see what you have been creating lately so we hope you find the time to play along and be sure to check out the awesome projects that the other Goddesses have come up with.

These fun little gum holders are perfect for giving to friends, neighbours or popping in stockings and are super quick and easy to make.  You can find the basic directions in this post.

For these ones I used a 1 1/2 x 4" strip of Whisper White and just tore a little bit off along the edges. For the notch at the top I used the 1" Circle Punch. The belt is 3/4" x 2 1/2 Basic Black with a 1" square of Brushed Silver and a 3/4" square of Basic Black. The words are from Delightful Decorations and was punched out with the 3/4" Circle.

A Simply Adorned Christmas

Wow, where do I even begin? Gee, have you guess that I have not had much time to stamp lately?  I had yet another child home sick yesterday (this time my son) and I am about to buy shares in Lysol so I can bath everyone in it and hopefully get rid of the germs-yuck:(

Anyway enough whining from me, we have a great challenge over at Stampin' Royalty this week - Anything But a Card. And I thankfully had something I made a while back that fits perfectly with the challenge:) Stampin' Up! had asked this years Artisan Award Winners to create a holiday project for their Facebook Page and I had created a Christmas ornament using the Simply Adorned Line of products. The ornament also fits in with the current challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments, so yay I get to play a long with some more of my blogging friends:)

I wanted the box to be just as pretty as what was on the inside so I just had to add some of my favourite things to it-ribbon, stampin', punching and pearls:) I stamped the Hello, Doilly Background on the lid of the box in Versa Mark then heat embossed it with Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder, crumpled and ruffled some Very Vanilla Seam Binding then added a tiny poinsettia that was created using the Boho Blossom Punch.

Here you can see it hanging on a tree, not exactly a christmas tree but when I was taking the picture I needed to find something to hang it on so I figured the cedar in my backyard would make a good subsitute,lol!
