A New Ink on Life

Inspire, Dare To Dream and Imagine......

It's that time again-you know time to get sketchy with Try Stampin' on Tuesday! I know most of you are still probably busy creating for Christmas but I really felt inspired to create this card using the Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin' kit. I just love all of the papers and elements in this kit.

I especially love the colour combination in this kit-Basic Gray, Primrose Petals, More Mustard and Pool Party. For the Basic Gray card stock panel I stamped the Distressed Dots background stamp tone on tone and also created a little banner from the same card stock. The large label is a die cut sticker from the kit and I stamped two butterflies from the Papillion Potpourri on it and also words from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, I want to have it popped up a bit so I first took the skickiness off the back using the Embossing Buddy then added several Dimensionals.

What maybe hard to see in the photo is that I used some homemade "shimmer mist" all over the card. To make this I used a Stampin' Spritzer and added 4 drops of Champange Mist Shimmer Paint then fill the rest with 70% rubbing alcohol. It creates such a beautiful shimmer. The little medallion and butterfly are also from the Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin' Kit. Lastly I used a Basic Gray Marker and the Colour Spritzer Tool to spritz some added colour to the card front.

One in a Million

Well not sure if my stamping slump is over (hope so:) but I do have a card to share with you today for this week's sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. We hope you can join us this week and we have some fabulous new design team members so be sure to check them out!

So leave it to me to not totally follow my own sketch,lol. The sentiment panel should extend all of the way across the card but I some how forgot that part when making it:) However sketches are starting points, right? I so love the sentment stamp set One in a Million and I particularly love this pair of sentiments. I have some very wonderful and supportive friends that really deserve to receive some mail from me. The base of this card is River Rock and then I added two strip of DSP from the Fan Fair pack. Of course then it need some spritzing with the Colour Spritzer Tool and a Basic Grey Marker.

The main image panel is Whisper White and I stamped 3 images from the Lacy and Lovely set several times not reinking in between. I used Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red and Island Indigo Classic Inks. For the main sentiment strip I also added one of the gorgeous Vintage Designer Faceted Buttons and some Linen Thread. Of course I just couldn't complete the card with out adding some Pearl Jewels, more spritzing and a little punched flower.

Merry Merry-Happy You

It's that time again-time to get sketchy at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! Be sure to check out all of the Design Teams samples and we hope you will join us this week.

Have you ever started a card with an idea in you head then have it turn into something totally different? Well that is what happened with this card:) I started with the Hostess only stamp set Happy You (it is full of cute little line art images for different occasions), stamped it on Watercolour Paper and gave the wreath image some quick colour using Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler Classic Inks and a Blender Pen. I then punched them out with the the 1 1/4" Square Punch so that the words were not with the image. Next using the 1 3/8 Square Punch I punched out some Gumball Green and mounted the 3 little images on them. Cute but now what was I going to do with them?!

I had a piece of Early Espresso Core'dination Card stock sitting on my desk that had already been embossed with the Woodgrain Impressions Folder. So I decided to punch out a trio of square to create a little window for each image to show through. It looked kind of plain, but then I had an "a ha" moment and decided to use one of the left over pieces of paper that had the sentiment on it. I also have had the Cherry Cobbler Scallopped Tulle Ribbon forever and had used it yet. I knew it would be perfect to tie the whole card together. I just cut it in half width wise so that it would not over power that card.

No Peeking!

It's time to get sketchy again at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! I love the very CAS lines of this sketch. We can't wait to see what you come up with and be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with for some great inspiration.

As I mention yesterday I would be back today with a little Christmas cheer:) SUO Challenges are having a Clean and Simple Holiday Challenge so I knew this sketch would be perfect to use and their challenge also helped me get another Christmas card done!

Okay first off, I must say the No Peeking stamp set is super cute but definately not my usual style. So of course I decided to order it:) I actually really like the way this card turned out and it took maybe 10 minutes to make! I started with a Naturals Ivory base then layered on a piece of DSP from the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper and stamped the sentiment directly on the card base using Cherry Cobbler ink. I stamped once again on a scrap of Very Vanilla and punched the "o" out with the 1/2" Circle Punch.

I then tied some Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon around the front of the card. For the main image I inked up the super cute reindeer using Soft Suede Ink and then I added just a small touch of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to his nose. The  little bird was inked up in Cherry Cobbler.

Above and Beyond...

I haven't pulled out the You're Amazing stamp set in a while and I couldn't wait to ink up the One in a Million set that I had just recently ordered. Plus my World Spectacular DSP was being neglected as well so I decided to use it too:) I started off with Cherry Cobbler for the card base then layered on a piece of DSP that had been stamped with the hot air balloon image using Island Indigo Ink.

For the main image I stamped the ballon using Daffodil Delight Ink  in the center then restamped it twice with out reinking. The sentiment was stamped using Early Espresso Ink.

T is for Thanks

It's Tuesday and that of course means time to get sketchy at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! This week's sketch lends itself to so many options, I do hope you will join us. And be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with.  The wonderful ladies at The Paper Players are also having a theme challenge to "Give Thanks", so I just knew I had to play along too.

I haven't used my Woodgrain Folder, Autumn Accents Die and the Wonderfall stamp set very much so I figured now would be a good time before there is snow instead of leaves on the ground:) The base of the card is Naturels Ivory, then I layered on a piece of Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock that had been embossed then sanded. The two strips of DSP are from the Ochard Harvest Designer Series paper pack.

The leaves were die cut from Riding Hood Red, Lucky Limeaide and More Mustard then stamped with the Wonderfall set using VersaMark. I wrapped some twine around the card front layer and tied on one of the gorgeous Brushed Bronze Buttons. Then I attached the leaves to a piece of Island Indigo that was die cut using the Delicate Doilies Sizzlet. For the sentiment I used the leter "T" from Letter It  and Island Indigo Ink (I stamped off once) then added the word "thanks" from Fabulous Phrases.

Snow Swirled Shimmer

It's Tuesday so that means time for another fun sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! I know tomorrow is halloween but I couldn't help but to make a Christmas card:) Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team came up with and I hope you can join us this week!

I was working on some cards for an upcoming class that focuses on using products that shimmer and glitter and of course I fell in love with the new Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Ink Pad. So I couldn't resist using it again for this card along with the gorgeous Silver Glimmer Paper.

If you click on the above photo you should be able to see the shimmer from the ink a little better. I just wish there was a way to capture in a photo how pretty it is IRL.  I have been trying to restrain myself lately from buying new stamps set (can't say that it has been going well,lol!) so have been focusing on using Christmas sets that I already have rather then needing to get new ones. Snow Swirled is one of those classic, pretty and elegant sets . For my colour combo I chose Midnight Muse, Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White. I think they look so good with the silver paper.

Fabulous Phrases Birthday

It's time for another fun sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! I think this week's sketch has a ton of possibilities, so I hope you will join us. And for some more inspiration to get your stamping mojo going be sure to check out the rest of the Design Teams Samples!

I needed yet another birthday card for a party last weekend, this time it was one my oldest daughter was attending. I wanted the card to to colourful and fun but because this was a tween/teen party I had to make sure it wasn't to young or to girly looking:) I think I maybe a little stuck on using the Papillion Potpourri, can't help it I just love that set!

For the base of the card I used Pool Party then layered on a piece of DSP from the Storytime Designer Series Paper. The words from Fabulous Phrases were also stamped on DSP from the same pack. A very CAS layout but I think effective. I had to laugh because according to my daughter, I think the birthday girl's mom enjoyed the card more then she did!

Let's Celebrate with Storytime Friends

It's time again for a super fun sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! I am sure you will agree that this sketch is full of possibilities, now make sure you check out all of the DT samples and we would love to have you play along!

I am in need of kids birthday cards for some up coming parties that my youngest daughter will be attending and I am absolutely in love with this year's  selection of Simply Scrappin' Kits. They are perfect for scrapping but are also awesome for creating quick cards!

When you are creating a card for a 5 year old let's be honest, they are not going to know if it took you 2 minutes or two hours to make it so I usually try to keep things simple:) The super bright and happy colour combo in the Bandstand Simply Scrappin' Kit just makes me smile. The paper patterns are fun and the cute little die cut stickers and border strips made it really easy to quickly put this card together.

The main image is from Storybook Friends and I just stamped it on Whisper White using Jet Black StazOn Ink. Rather then colouring it in I decided to just stamp the flag on on of the border strips and cut it out to give a pop of colour. The little label is a die cut sticker and I just added a stamped sentiment that was punched out with the Small Oval Punch and popped up on a Dimensional.

Thanks is for Giving

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! It has been a busy week around here and unfortunately I got hit with a nasty cold but I do have so much to be thankful for:) My wonderful husband let me spend most of the day resting trying to get better and even cooked a full turkey dinner! I also was fortunate enough to attend a Stampin' Up! Regional Event last weekend and had a wonderful road trip with some fantastic friends and fellow demos (I promise I will have more to say about it but our antics will definately need a post of their own!)

Unfortunately I was unable to get a Design Team sample done for this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday but I really liked the sketch so I got a small window to stamp the other day and came up with a card that I thought would be perfect to share today:) Be sure to check out the Design Team's amazing samples!

My super talented cyber friend Mindy posted a really cute christmas card for the challenge and I loved the crumb cake on cumb cake panel that she did so I CASE'd the idea. I used a sentiment from the Seasonal Sayings stamp set and the yummy Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper and of course my trusty Colour Spritzer with an Island Indigo Marker.

I destressed the strips of DSP a little and added a scrap of Victorian Crochet Trim that I tied some Linen Thread around and attached a Designer Faceted Button.
