Fantastic memory, great card!! The poppy on your card in so amazing how similar it is to the ones we wear each year. How symoblic that you called your grandfather "Poppy"! Thanks for sharing.

Jenn,Thank you for sharing your story and honoring our military past and present. My father in law served in WW2 and a nephew serving in the Canadian Military. I am proud of both of them. Rememberance Day has become even more of an emotional day for us.

What a touching story. It's funny how this day evokes such strong emotions in many of us. Thanks for sharing.

Stunning card Jenn and a wonderful tribute to your Poppy. What wonderful memories you must have. My Pop was a great man too and I have some fab memories, Hugs

Jenn what a beautiful tribute to your "poppy" and to all the others who served valiantly and gave of themselves to keep all of us safe. Your card is really beautiful and I'm so glad you shared your childhood memories with all of us!

Yes Jen - a beautiful story. Thanks so much for sharing a little piece of your history with us.

It's Remembrance Day here in Aus today also (Nov 11). At the 11 am (11th hour, 11th day, 11th month), our nation observes a minute's silence in honour of our servicemen and woman, both past and present. Although the minute is a very short time, it is a wonderful time for reflection and thankfulness for all of those who sacrificed for us and our country.

I'm sure that your Poppy would be beaming with pride right now at your beautiful tribute.

Hugs

Hi Jen ~ thanks for sharing and love the poppy on the card! I always where a poppy during this time as well ~ this was beautifully done and wonderfully shared ~ thanks for your words

Beautiful story Jen. You are so lucky to have such wonderful memories. I did not know my grandparents at all. They had all passed by the time I was 5. What a wonderful card to honor your "poppy". Love that nickname!
