Deck the Halls with Memories SR#52

This week we at Stampin' Royalty we are challenging you to get Scrappin'. We would love to see your lastest scrapbook page/pages (traditional or digital) or mini album. I am sure you have a ton of photos from the holidays just waiting; so what better way to get started then by a fun scrappy chanllenge?!

 I used both the Deck The Halls Designer Series Paper and the matching fabric for my layout. The picture is ofcourse of my beautiful children,and it was taken when we went to cut down a tree for our Christmas Tree. We have be doing this for the last several years and it is such a wonderful experience to share with the kids. We go to a local property that has a tree farm (they also have horses, which the kids love visiting) and the we hunt for that perfect tree. Now if your family is anything like mine there are always some mishaps involved, including trying to convince a 7 and 3 year old that this is NOT the place to play hide and seek! But in the end we did find a great tree and hubby even let each of the
children take a turn sawing it down.
I decided that for my page I wanted to create a tree of my own so I used my Circle Scissors Plus and Glass Mat to cut out a 6" circle. I then cut the circle in half and folded to resemble a tree. Now Connie has a great tutorial on how to do this. I first saw this done last year by Carrie Gaskin at one of our local demo meetings, she used several different circle punches to create cute mini trees for a tag. I adorn my tree with rows of Pearl Jewels and an Early Espresso button, I also created little presents for under the tree by cutting Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla Card stock and using some 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. I then used an image from Tiny Tags to stamp a design on them. To create the title I used both the Upper and Lower case Sweet Shoppe Alphabet and really roughed up the paper, then sponged it to give a destressed look.

I think one of my favourite things about this layout it the added touch of using the Small Jewlery Tag Punch to hilight the date part of the jounaling. I then attached it with some Linen thread and also added a mini safety pin from the Vintage Trinkets.

Love Impressions-a Sketchy Sneak Peek!

Wow where has the last week gone?! I still have presents to wrap, packages to send and GASP-cards to mail! Yes it has been one of those days, weeks, months, around here. Time just seems to be vanishing in to thin air and to make matters worst we are in the middle of renovating our ensuite bathroom! Sooo, needless to say things on the creative front have been put on hold :(

However I do have a fun card for you today :) It is Wednesday and that means another great challenge at Stampin' Royalty. This week we have a Sketch Challenge for you. I do hope you can find some time to escape and be creative; we would love to have you join us this week.

Look Ma -NO STAMPS! I used the Love Impressions Rub ons from the upcoming NEW OCCASSIONS MINI CATALOGUE that will be available to order from on January 4th. This card was really fun and easy to make and I pretty much followed the Sketch perfectly! (seldom happens :) Of all the challenges I usually find the sketch ones to be the most challenging.

 The card is pretty self explanatory (I think) so I am just going to list the supplies.

Stamps: NONE!

Paper: Play Date DSP,  Textured Basic Gray, Pretty In Pink, Pink Pirouette and Whisper white Card stock.

Accessories: Love Impressions Rub Ons, Bone Folder (I use it to apply the Rub ons), Small Heart Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder and  Sizzix Big Shot.

Gingerbread and Sugared Things.....SR#50

I had so much fun with this challenge and got a gift made in the process :)

Here you can see a close up of the cute gift tag that really sparkles in person! I used a bunch of SU! Rhinestone Jewels and also covered the tag in Vanilla Smooch Spray. The tag itself was made using Crumb Cake Card stock and one of the tags from the Two Tags Die (I cut it down a little so it was not as long). The sentiment is from the Sweet Season stamp set and I stamped it twice using Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla and Old Olive. I punched out part of the Old Olive piece so I could spotlight part of the words (yes I know that I did not line it up perfectly, I realised it after the picture was taken and with my OCD it is driving me nuts! Of course I have since fixed it :) The super cute Gingerbread man is from Jolly Bingo Bits.

Here you can see the full thing. I baked yummy Ginger snaps and rolled them in decorative sugar and I just love the way the cookies sparkle from it! You can see from this picture that I also added some Wide Striped Old Olive ribbon, Hemp twine  and a Real Red button to the tag. The jar is just one that I picked up from IKEA and I added one of the Candy Cane Christmas Decor Elements from the Holiday Mini. They are so fun and easy to use, and can quickly dress up a plain jar, mug, mirror, cookie plate...the possibilities are endless!

Rub on The Holiday Cheer -Holly & Jolly Rub ons

Well I figure I better get these pictures posted before Christmas has come and gone,lol! It has been hectic around here with Christmas concerts, class field trips and just the everyday busyness that this time of year brings.

A few weeks ago I had a class featuring the Holly&Jolly Rub ons and matching Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper. Can you believe it-there was no stamping involved! I love Stampin' Up!s new Rub ons; they are very high quality and easy to apply. We made the box pictured above and also a bunch of matching tags and cards.

 Each attendee receive a half a pack of Rub ons and all the supplies to make the project. The best part was there was still a ton of Rub ons left so they could make more cards and tags at home.

The three gift tags were made using the SU! Exclusive Two Tags Die and Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler Card stock. For the mini 3x3 note cards I started with a Very Vanilla base and again kept with the same core colours that are in the Jolly Holiday DSP. There were also lots of punches used in the project including the Scallop Circle, several different size circle ones and the Wide Oval.   I also used my favourite wide Striped Grograin Ribbon and both sized of Neutral brads in Very Vanilla.

'Tis The Season of Joy SR# 49

This week at Stampin' Royalty we are celebrating the holiday season in a big way! Our challenge for you is to create a WINTER HOLIDAY themed project- Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza, Whatever... so get stampin' this week and join us in some holiday cheer!

 This was one of the first Stampin' Up! sets that I ever purchased. My stamping addiction all started 3 years agao when I wanted to make my own Christmas cards and well I guess you could say the rest is history,lol! It was fun to use Season of Joy again.

 
For the card base I used Bravo Burgundy then layered a piece of Crumb Cake that has been stamped with the swirly image in Crumb Cake Classic Ink. I then layered on a strip of Textured Baja Breeze and a Night of Navy piece that had been embossed with the Petals-a-Plenty folder and my Big Shot. The main image was stamped using Bravo Burgundy on Whiper White and I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.

 The snowflake image was stamped using Baja Breeze Ink and then punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch and popped up using a Dimensional. For a little bling I added some Rhinestone Jewels (have I mentioned already how much I love these things?!) Then it was matted on Bravo Burgundy and for some added interest I tucked a loop of Satin Whisper White Ribbon.

Trim the Tree with Stampin' Royalty #48

Okay so I know I have been MIA all week but I promise my blogging should pick back up after this week :) Things have been crazy busy but in a good way and I will have lots of projects to show come weeks end!

So on to this week's Challenge at Stampin' Royalty. Sandra picked out a fab colour combo for this week and although a little untradition for Christmas colours I thought they worked perfect for this card. Be sure to check out all the Design Teams samples for some awesome inspiration.

I used River Rock textured card stock for the base  then layered Marina Mist and the beautiful Snowflake DSP from the Christmas Cheer Simply Scrappin' Kit. The main images are from the Tree Trimmings Set and were stamped on Whisper White using River Rock, Early Espresso, Rich Razzleberry and Marina Mist Classic Inks, then matted on Rich razzleberry Card stock. It is hard to tell from the picture but I stamped the Marina Mist ornament on a scrap piece and cut it out, then attached it with dimensionals to give the card a little pop.
 
 I couldn't resist pulling out some of the Wide Striped Ribbon and making a big fat bow, plus I needed to incorporate some more Early Espresso into the design. For the finishing touches I punched out a Textured piece of River Rock with the Decorative Label Punch and added some bling with the Rhinstone Jewels.
