Okay so I have already told you about how amazing it was to attend the Vancouver Stampin' Up! Regional Event, and I am sure you assume that I took lots of pictures-right? Well of course I did, and you know what comes next -right?! A My Digital Studio Scrapbook page :)

 
I have very few pictures of me as I am usually the one behind the lens, so it was fun to create a lay out with me in it! For those of you that may not know I am standing with Shelli Gardner; Cofounder and CEO of Stampin' Up! She is absolutely one of the most kind and genuine people I have every met. It was so much fun to drag (not really, they came willingly) 2 of my downline (and friends of course) up with me to get their pictures taken :) I have met Shelli a few times before and I remember the first I met her 2 years ago-I was in awe, lol! So it was so nice (and rewarding) to have 2 from my team get to experience the same time.

Yes, my MDS addiction is here to stay :) For this page I used a lot of additional downloads that you can purchase to add to your program, plus I used the BLISS stamp brush set that you can earn for FREE! (one of the Sale a bration offers with a min. $60 order) The Designer Series paper is from Botanical Gazette and the title is from the Word Play download. I also used some Paper Dasies, Pearl Jewels, an Antique Brad and Vintage Trinkets.

WOW-What a Day!

Today I spent the day stamping with 400 of my closest friends:) Does life get any better than this,lol?! Stampin' Up! really knows how to hold an event, and I am always truly amazed by all the fabulous samples and presentations by  both the SU! trainers and fellow demonstrators. It was awesome. So I thought I would share with you the other swap card that I created for this Regional Event.

  
 
This card is definately Clean and Simple and so very different from my other swap card; told you I have a hard time creating many of the same thing:)

This is a super fun colour combination of Elegant Eggplant, Peach Parfait, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. For the layout of this card there was a lot of "white space" so to add a little interest I randomly stamped the flower from Itty Bitty Bits (which you can get for FREE with a qualifying Sale a Bration order :) in Peach Parfait Ink. The Elegant Eggplant strip was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder and I attached a scalloped strip (created using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch) of Certainly Celery under it.

The flower was made with the Fancy Flower Punch and I then stamped the coordinating For You Flower (which you could also get for FREE :) on Whisper White with Elegant Eggplant Ink. Rather than punching out the full flower I just punched out the center with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. To finish it off I stamped the word "thanks" from Fabulous Pharses and attached a cute matching Flower Bitty Button.

Puns from the Past-Sew Glad We're Friends

This upcoming Saturday I will be attending a Stampin' Up! regional seminar, right here in Vancouver, BC! I am so excited and I know that it will be tons of fun. So I wanted to make a few swap cards but I was challenged with two problems: 1. I hate making mutiples of the same card and 2. I have a REALLY hard time trying to keep things simple enough to mass produce. Solution?- I came up with 2 very different designs and I am only going to make about 20 of each :)

Here is the one that I am sharing today:

  
For this card I started with a Cherry Cobbler base then layered on a piece of Confetti White card stock that had been sponged and wheeled with the Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel. The main image was stamped using Early Espresso ink and is from the Puns From the Past Stamp set.I matted it on Soft Suede Card stock and crumbled up both layers then smoothed them out.
The fabric is just a small strip from the Deck the Halls Designer Fabric (which IS still available-yeah!) and I also cut out some cute little paper buttons in Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler using the new Sweet Buttons Embosslit.To finish it off I used a Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch to create a delicate scalloped edge. I love the way this card turned out and hopefully those swapping with me will too:)

Inspired By Nature Sketch Time SR #60

It is time again for another fun challenge at Stampin' Royalty this time we are getting Sketchy!

Here's my take on the sketch, although I will admit I did take a little creative license :)

 I decided to make a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2" square card to change things up a bit. The card base is Old Olive, I then layered on a piece of patterned paper (from the Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper)the next layer is Melon Mambo and then Chocolate Chip. I just love the Cone Flower Silhouette  from Inspired by Nature so I decided to make it my focal point with the three panels from the sketch.
 
 Using my SU! markers in Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip I coloured direct to stamp then stamped the image on Confetti White Card stock. I then blended the image with a Blender Pen for create a "faux watercolour" effect. I then added a Marina Mist butterfly (from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit) and 3 small Pearl Jewels. As per the sketch I finished the card off with the yummy Satin Ribbon in Very Vanilla.

Petal Cone Party Time!

I was so excited to see that my project has now been posted to the Oh My Word UStamp with Dawn and Friends site, so now I can finally share it here! I have been sitting on this project for over a month and am quite pleased with how it turn out. This is just one of the 40+ projects with PDF instructions that will be shared during the current session of UStamp. The projects are amazing so be sure to check out all the info here and sign up if you would like to receive step by step photo instructions to this project.

Wouldn't this make such a quick cute birthday treat or even a party favour?! I just love how versatile the Petal Cone die is.

My Digital Studio = BLISS

 
 We are in the middle of another fabulous round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends and all I can tell you is that I think this is the best one yet! Today I get to have a little fun with some of the UStamp Design Team and our wonderful members. We are having a Scavenger Hunt for the members and some where in this post I will have a key word. Each DT member will have their own key word and once the members find all the words they will need to create the key word sentence for a chance to win a fabulous hand stamped prize. How great is that?!!!!!! I am telling you you don't want to miss out on all the fun we are having!

Best part is I also get to give away a FREE PASS to some one who has NEVER been a member to UStamp before. Just leave me a comment and I will randomly pick some one.

 
 
I finally uploaded the Sale a bration Digital Content CD (which you can get for FREE with any purchase of $60 or more!) It is filled with SAB calatlogue offerings but in Digital form-better yet you get all 4 stamp sets, DSP and Quick accents pack, Ribbon and Button pack and the Decor Image on one CD!

For this page I used the Ice Cream Parlor DSP and Accents, plus the matching buttons, the Sweet Summer Stamp Brush Set and for the title I used the Bliss Stamp Brush Set. I also added a Pumpkin Pie button and some skinny Taffeta Ribbon but everything else is from the SAB CD.

Love Life

Yay, I got a little stamping time today and was able to have some fun combining some challenges! I LOVE Stacey's colour challenges at Curtain Call, the SUO challenge blog is having a fun Wheel challenge and I was finally able to play along at the amazing Our Creative Corner where they are challenging you to "Cut it Out".

 
 Here's my card:

So I at first wasn't sure about this card and really did not have a clear idea of what I was going to make when I sat down to stamp (actually truth be told I almost always stand when I am stamping:). I knew I really wanted to create a flower with the new SU! Exclusive Fun Flowers Die by Sizzix, so I cut two of the shapes from Whisper White Textured Card stock then sprayed them with Shimmer Mist (Platinum Shimmer Paint mixed with Alcohol) and crumpled them up. Once dry I sponged them with Cherry Cobbler and wheeled Crumb Cake ink on with the Very Vintage Wheel (I also used this wheel on the Real Red card base).  The main Whisper White piece as well as the punched Crumb Cake Dotted Ribbon Border, were dry embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder.

In the center of the flower I added a Crumb Cake Button and a Trinket Key. I knew that I wanted to add leave but in keeping with the colour challenge I did not want to add green. So I punched out 2 leaves using the Blossoms Petal Punch from Very Vanilla and again I used my wheel to created some interest. Next I used my Paper Crimper to add a little "life" to them.


 
Now here is where all the cutting comes in! I am not good at cutting things out, so I don't do it very often but like I said earlier I was excited to finally have the time to play along with the OCC challenge. The flowers are from BLISS (a Sale a Bration stamp set) and I stamped them in Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and I also inked it with Real Red then Rocked it in Cherry Cobbler to create a multi coloured effect. I added 3 Pearl Jewels. The sentiment was inked using markers and is from the set You're a Gem.

Elements of Style - Mark It Up SR# 59

This week at Stampin' Royalty we are asking you to "Mark it Up"! Use markers any way you want; colouring, watercolouring, drawing, sketching, you name it. My favourite way to watercolour is using Stampin' Up's markers and an Aqua painter, so that is what i did :) Hope you can join us this week and be sure to check out the wonderful Design Team's submissions.

 I pulled out my neglected Elements of Style stamp set (the imgaes in this set are beautiful) as I knew that the floral image would be perfcet to do a little watercolouring. The image was stamped in Black Staz On, on Water Colour Paper. I then used Bravo Burgandy, Daffodil Delight and Always Artichoke markers to colour the roses. The way I water colour with makers is by first starting inside the edge of the images and the use the Aqua painter to pull the colour inward and blend. I then very lightly stamped over it with the En Francais Background stamp.
 I used the 2 1/2" Circle Punch for the Water colour paper and then matted it on a Basic Black Circle that was die cut using the Sizzix 3" Circle die. The base of the card is a Bravo Burgandy 4 1/2 x 4 1/2" square. Next a layer of Basic Black, then a Crumb Cake Square that was dry embossed using the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder. I tied some Always Artichoke Seam binding around this piece and finished the bow with an Antique Brad. The word Friends is from Tiny Tags and was punched out with the Jewlery Tag. To complete the card I just had to add  some Pearl Jewels.

Queen for the Day

Today's post will be quick, but all I can say is thank goodness it is Friday! We have had a long week around here with everyone getting the stomach flu:(  Yuck! One after the other we all fell victim it starting with the youngest-I am just glad that we have 4 bathrooms in our house! But at least one good thing came out of it-my house is REALLY clean now,LOL! I went a little over board with the bleach and lysol, I DO NOT want to get sick again.

I had made this card for a swap that I was in with some demonstrators from our local group. We always have such a great time at our quarterly meetings, and it was so great seeing everyone and demonstrations were fantastic.

Have Heart -Stampin' Royalty #58

This week we have a fun Theme challenge for you at Stampin' Royalty! We are asking you to create a project where the main focus is HEARTS. And with Valentines Day less than a week away this should be an easy one :)

I created a thank you card and a cute sweet treat that would be a perfect little token of appreciation for anyone.

 For the card I started with an Early Espresso base and using the Small Heart Punch, I punched out the bottom right corner to create a little heart window. Then using my Paper Piercer I pierced holes around the shape.  
I then used the Tasteful Trim Die to cut out the large scallops from Textured Real Red Card stock. The heart papttern paper is from the Play date DSP and was matted onto Crumb Cake. I also used a strip of the DSP inside the card so it would be seen through the heart punch out. The Early Espresso heart was die cut using the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit, the glittery heart was punched out using the Full Heat Punch and Red Glimmer Paper. I of course had to add ribbon, so I ruffled some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon. The sentiment is actually two stamps from the Fabulous Pharses set (I love the font) and it was punched out using the Curly Label Punch, then I attached a Heart Bitty Button.

 
For the little treat holder I used the Two Tags Die and a 3 x 8 1/2" piece of card stock folded in half. I placed the folded end just above the bottom of the tag shape so that the fold would not be cut. The Hershey's Miniture was attached with a Mini Glue Dot and I tied the holder shut with 1/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon. The word Enjoy is from the stamp set Your a Gem in the Occasions Mini Catalogue.
