Well today is my hubby's birthday (yes he is a FOOL!) and I just had to make him a card. A funny fact about my husband is that he really doesn't see the point of cards, kind of ironic don't you think considering there are literally cards all over our house, lol! But I am sure deep down he will appreciate it,right?! They are also have a Birthday Challenge over at the SUO Challenge Blog and PPA is challenging you to use your punches.
I really have been trying to experiment with new colour combos lately, and I must say I do think I will use this one again. Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Bravo Burgundy and Certainly Cerlery seem to be a great combo for a fresh and fun masculine card. To create the banner I used strips of DSP from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack and punched the bottom out with part of the 1 1/4" Square Punch to create the fork. I also knew I wanted to add a lot of texture to the card and found that the Square Lattice Impressions Folder gives just the right amount.
And lookie I even managed to take a picture of the inside, lol! I do normally decorate the inside of my cards I just seem to always forget to take a picture. I stamped the ballons twice, once on the Confetti White card stock then again on the DSP. I then cut of the DSP balloons and paper pieced them onto the card. This is always a great technique to do when you want to add just a little more detail.
Supplies Used: Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Bravo Burgundy, Confetti White and Baja Breeze card stock. Basic Black, Early Espresso and Bravo Burgundy Ink. Sweet Shoppe Upper Alphabet, Party This Way and Fabulous Phrases Stamp Sets. Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery DSP (Subtles Paper Stack). Mini Library Clips, Hemp Twine, Linen Thread, Neutrals Buttons, Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder and Paper Piecer.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, I know I will!

Very cute banner, and I love how you decorated the inside for "less" writing space - LOL! Thanks for playing SUO Challenges.
