My Digital Studio- A Grandmother's Gift

So this week at Stampin' Royalty we decided that even though Mother's Day has past, we still should be celebrating the mother's, grandmother's and wonderful women in our life :) So we a have a theme challenge this this week of Celebrating Mothers.

I created a special Mother's Day gift for my Mother in Law in My Digital Studio:

I used a photo of my kids from almost 2 years ago (can you believe that I have no recent ones of all of them together?!) and made a large photo box to cover the 8 1/2 x 11 page in My Digital Studio. I knew I wanted the photo to be "faded" so I changed the Picture Opacity to 40%. Next I "stamped" the swirls from the Notes And Details Download and then layered on the Texture #2 from the Vintage Overlays Download I then created a text box for a poem that I found on the internet (unknown author).

Now I could of just printed it out and framed it but I decided to create a hybrid project.

So I printed the photo to 8x10 then matted it with Basic Black Card stock, then attached it to a 12x12 sheet of Textured Very Vanilla Card stock. Next I used the Fun Flowers Die and My Big Shot to cut out flowers in Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride. I then attached a button and a Trinket Key. I did use a hot glue gun to glue it to the page as I knew I would need a very strong hold because it would be standing upright. For the butterfly I used the Beautiful Butterfies Die and cut it out in Very Vanilla then sponged it with Daffodil Delight and wheel the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel over it using Crumb Cake Ink. The words" Key to my Heart" is from the You're a Gem stamp set that was in the previuos Occasions Mini. (I do hope they carry this set to the new Catalogue in July :) I punched it out with the 3/4 x 15/16 Oval Punch.

I used a 12x12 shadow box that I got at a local craft store to frame the finished project
