We have a great challenge for you at Stampin' Royalty today! The Challenge for this week is a Recipe Challenge -Bring on the Bling!! - Rhinestones, Glitter, Sparkles!!  Be sure to check out all the Design Team samples for some awesome inspiration and we would love to have you play along.

Now let me first tell you that this card is REALLY shimmery IRL! The whole card was misted with some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint that had beeen mixed with alcohol and sprayed on. This gives it a nice soft glimmer. 
   
If you click on this photo to view it larger you should be able to see some of the shimmer. Boy is it ever frustrating when you can not get a good picture-promise it is soooo pretty IRL,lol! The base of the card is Soft Suede Textured card stock. I created a flagged piece by using some Beau Chateau Designer Series then added a Marina Mist decorative edge by punching the card stock with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. Lastly I created the "flagged" end by using the 1 3/8" Square Punch. The main image piece is from the Beau Chateau Side Notes (these are amazing accents to add to cards or scrap pages)
I lightly watercoloured the flowers then stamped on the sentiment and little bee. I created this card especially for a very wonderful friend of mine who has a thing for bee images:) Of course I needed to add some "bling" so I used a strip of Rhinestone Jewels.The ribbon flower was created using Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake Seam Binding and a Antique Brad.

I Say HELLO

Okay for some reason I could not get that Beatles song out of my head when I was making this card,lol! It's Tuesday so that means time for another sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. Now CherylAnn had a lot of the Design Team stumped by this one, it's funny too because the sketch is a real CAS one. What's so great though is it had me really stretch my my thinking and I finally came up with a card at the last possible moment.

See super simple, right?! I have no idea why I was having such a creative block, seems my Mojo has taken a little holiday. The base of the card is Crumb Cake and I then layered on a fun bright patterned paper from the Domestic Goddess Designer Series Paper.  Each little flag/banner was created using the one in the Petal Card Die and then I stamped the setiment from Happy Greetings 3 separate times
inking up the words individually with Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, and Calypso Coral.  The flowers were created using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch. I punched them from Whisteria Wonder, Island Indigo, and Calypso Coral and then added a yummy Polka Dot Brad to the center.

 

I also die cut the cute little butterflies  from the Beautiful Butterflies Embosslit and then added them to the end of my flags, decorating each one a little different.

Life is Beautiful

I mentioned earlier in the week that we were a way for a few days attending the marriage of my cousin. It truly was an amazingly beautiful day and really made me reflect on how truly blessed I am with my own beautiful (crazy, stress filled and amazing) life.

 

If I was to tell you that this was a quick five minute page like THIS ONE, it would be a lie lol! There was lots of fiddling with the Opacity, filling with punches, layering, drop shadows and several different stamp brush sets. But it was so worth the labour of love as I do think this page is beautiful. It still appears very clean but there is lots of little details (you can click on the photo to view it larger).

As I type this I am not sure of all the downloads that I have used but I will try to get back later and update that info:)

Kindness Matters

Well it is Wednesday and that means another awesome challenge for you over at Stampin' Royalty! This week we are having a Sketch Challenge and I am so excited to announce that we have added another crazy, talented, amazing stamper to the design team!  In case you haven't noticed I am on a bit of a water colouring kick. ( thanks Di for all your help:) This stamp set was on my #1 must have list when I first saw the new Catalogue. And I am soooooooo loving the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper that will be available in the Holiday Mini Catalogue come Sept.1st. Seriously I think this is one of my all time favourites ever!

 
The butterflies from Kindness Matters are stamped on  Watercolour Paper using Chocolate Chip Craft Ink then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Next I stamped over them using the En Francais Background stamp and Crumb Cake ink (I first stamped off on a scrap paper to create a lighter colour) Then using my Aqua Painter and several Classic Ink colours I watercoloured the butterflies then outlined them with my Sahara Sand Marker and blended. The edges were sponged with Pool Party and the piece was matted on Soft Suede. Everything else I think is pretty self explanatory:)

Little Friends, Again:)

Okay so I know I just posted a card with this set but it is so stinkin cute that I just had to use it again for this weeks Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch challenge. And this week I managed to use the sketch for the right week!

Here's my card:

Are these not just the cutest little girls?! Again I watercoloured them using several different Classic Ink colours, markers and my Aqua Painter. I found this sketch to be a little challenging but decided to use two Paper Daisies as the other main elements and I think it worked out quite well.

 The main image was stamped on WaterColour paper then punched out using the 2 1/2" Circle Punch. I knew that I wanted to have another layer behind it so I punched a strip of Blushing Bride card stock with the Dotted Ribbon Border Punch then ran that piece through my Paper Crimper. I then attached it to the circle with Sticky Strip. Oh and I am loving the new Mini Silver Brads-so stinkin' cute!

Little Friends

Okay so I said I would be back with a card and I am! Wow look at me being productive, lol. So one of the many wonderful things that I received from being chosen as an Artisan Award Winner this year was a $500 shopping spree and I promised my oldest daughter that I would order this set for her. So last night we sat down together and did a little water colouring one on one. Now I am by no means an expert when it comes to water colouring, but to an almost 12 year old I am a rock star:) haha (However, wait until you see what she made)

Here's my card:
I just love the images in this set and planned on ordering it any way (shhh, she doesn't need to know that:) It was fun to just stamp just because and not for an upcoming class or DT project. To water colour the images I used a combinations of inks, markers, an Aqua Painter and Blender Pen. The card is very Clean and simple but I just love this colour combo. I used Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party and Island Indigo.

The Cherry Cobbler DSP was pleated a little on one side and then I placed some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon over top of it. I just love this new ribbon-it is so stretchy and easy to work with. Not sure if you can really see it to well in the photo, but I added a Dotted Scollop Punched piece of Blushing Bride to the top of the main image. It just gave a nice added touch of contrast.

For All You Do.......

Well my family and I just got back from a whirlwind weekend away. We attended the wedding of my wonderful cousin and my 3 children all had the honour of being in the wedding party. I believe I took about 300 pictures!

So I have been sitting here tonight (now early morning) going through all of them and I am now at the editing process. But as soon as I saw this picture of my oldest daughter I just knew I would have to make a quick scrap page in My Digital Studio:)

 Really the picture speaks for itself so I almost feel guilty for actually calling this a scrap page (it seriously took me 5 minutes!). I just added the Vintage Overlay in Texture#2 in River Rock with a 50% Opacity, then "stamped" on the phrase from For All You Do in Very Vanilla and added a slight Crumb Cake drop shadow.

That's it, and you can be sure that there will be lots (and lots:) of photos to come from this beautiful day .

Artisan Award Winning Project # 10 Blog Hop Day 10

Well my friends, today I am sharing the last of my Artisan Award projects. It was fun to revisit each project with all of you (and try to remember exactly what I did to make each of them,lol!). I have really enjoyed looking at everyone else's projects and reading all the little details that went into making each one, details that are so easily missed when you are looking at them from 8 feet away.

The last project that I am sharing today is my final 3D. Now I think I know where my strengths and weaknesses lie when it comes to my skills in paper crafting. I am am not a 3D rock star like my fellow Artisan winners. So I knew when I was figuring out what I was going to make that it would not be some phenomel structure or amazing sewing project. I knew it had to reflect me and what I was capable of and hopefully that would be enough. I decided to focus on trend, composition, and trying to use something in an innovative way.

So I created this banner and added my favourite-Pinwheels!

I know it would be so much better if I had a picture of it hanging up,but.... you guessed it this was taken at the UPS store right before it was sent off! Now please do not think that I did not put a lot of time and effort into my projects because some were created last minute-it is just how my brain works:) I see something in my head and then create in spurts. Fortunately for me the 3D projects just came to me and I was then able to sit and create them. Trust me in the days leading up to that final night I did not think everything would be finished on time.

So on to the banner! I used the now retired Pennant Die and instead of placing the scored side of the card stock to the left, I placed it to the right so it created a forked pennant rather then a triangular one. The pennant was made from Textured Pacific Point card stock and then I decorated it with pinwheels made from the Celebrations Designer Series Paper and matching Quick Accents. The letters for the word PARTY were created in My Digital Studio using the Broadsheet Alphabet Download, I added a drop shadow to each letter in Pacific Point to help make the letters pop. One of the best things about My Digital Studio is that you can resize any of the stamps. So I was able to create the letters large enough for my banner and colour match my card stock-love it!

Artisan Award Winning Project #9 Blog Hop Day 9

Wow here we are on day 9 of this year's Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop. If you have been following along you should have arrived her from the very talented  Laura Mellinger's blog, and if not there is a full list of all of the blog's at the end of this post, so be sure to check out their amazing projects. 

Today I am sharing the last of my card entries. This one was so much fun to create as it has TONS of sponging, destressing, misting, tearing, bleaching and embossing going on:)

I started with a Naturels Ivory standard size card base and stamped it with the Woodgrain Background stamp. Then using the Destressing Essentials Tool Kit I sanded the whole card. Next I used the Tea stain ink and some water along with the flat rubber stamp from the kit a rubbed it all over. 

The main butterfly image is actually from the First Edition Designer Series Paper and I used some ink pads and a Blender Pen to lightly colour it. The Crumb Cake piece of card stock was stamped with the cherry blossoms from Easter Blossoms and clear embossed. Next I took my Aqua Painter and filled it with Bleach then "coloured" in the blooms. I love how they bleached out.

I really wanted to use some of the Springtime Vintage fabric on at least one of my entries and since I am not a real sewer I opted to add it to my card. I sponged it then pleated it under a strip of card stock that was also pleated and punched out using the Scallop Dotted Ribbon Border Punch. The sentiment is from Word Play and I thought it was very fitting for a Butterfly themed card. It was stamped on a piece of Wood Sheet and clear embossed then sponged over with Soft Suede Ink. Even the piece of First Edition DSP that I chose is about butterflies and their metamorphosis.

Birthday Wishes with Nature Walk

It's Wednesday and I am back today with a fantastic challenge from Stampin Royalty! I absolutely love Inspiration challenges and I was totally inspired by this weeks pictures.  A really good friend of mine just recently celebrated her birthday so I wanted to make her a very special card. I will admit, I do LOVE how it turned out:) The base of the card is Natural Ivory card stock and I embossed it with the Tulip Frame folder, then sponged the raised part with Whisper White Craft ink to create a soft wash.

I created the rectangle frame with the new Designer Frames Impressions Folder and then cut around the edges with my Paper Snips, and then cut out the center using a Craft Knife. I also sponged the out side edges of the frame lightly with Whisper White Craft Ink. If you look closely at the photo you can see the the bird image was stamped over with the script from French Foliage just to give a little more interest. The ribbon flower was create using Very Vanilla Seam Binding and I then put a Antique Brad through the Center. I put a piece of Soft Suede Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (My FAVOURITE type of ribbon) through the frame a tied it with a piece of Linen Thread, then attached the tag.
