A New Ink on Life

Forever and Always

Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful start to the New Year. We will be leaving the house shortly to take all the kids out to a movie and then go to a wonderful friend's house to ring in the New Year all together:)

But I did have a little time to create and of course I could not resist pulling out new goodies again. I also got the chance to play along with one of my favourite challenge sites ColourQ. This week the possibities are limitless with a combo of Black, White and one other colour. Hmmm it got me thinking because there are so many colours that I could choose from but in the end I went with Calypso Coral (okay and there is a smidge of Blushing Bride too:)

Oh my gosh the new White Waffle Paper is amazing! I used it here to pleat/ruffle along the card and also spritzed a piece with Smooch Spritz then shaped it into a flower. The base of the card is Calypso Coral then a layer of Whisper White that had been Smooched and also spritzed with a Calypso Coral Marker and Colour Spritzer Tool. The Basic Black layer was embossed using the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaer Impressions Folder then a generous amout of smooching on that layer as well:)

The flower was layered on top of one of the new Attic Boutique Side Notes, I then added some hearts that were die cut using the new Fashionable Hearts Embosslit. I am telling you the upcoming Occasions Mini is full of amazing new products! The very thin Calypso Coral Organza Ribbon can be earned for FREE starting January 24 during Sale a Bration, so be sure to mark your calendars. Again I turned to my favourite word stamps for my sentiments.

A Colourful Mixed Bunch

Oh my gosh this post is going up super late.  My computer died on Christmas day, thankfully it was just the power source so it got fixed and I am now able to get back to the land of the internet,lol. Trust me it was a rough few days, but at least it forced me to focus on other things:)

Anyway back to this weeks Challenge at Stampin' Royalty. It is a great colour challenge and I was happy to use a few new items from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalogue (available to order from Jan. 4) Be sure to check out the gorgeous samples from the Design Team and we would love to have you play along.

Here's my card:

I couldn't seem to get a good picture no matter what I tried, but it is very pretty IRL:) The base of the card is Rose Red and then I layered on some matching DSP. Next I added a strip of Pretty in Pink DSP and topped it with the yummy Chocolate Chip Dotted Scallop Ribbon.


I could help but to sneak in a little Lucky Limeaide:) The fun flowers are from the new set Mixed Bunch and it was punched out with the matching punch called Blossom. Love them so much! The sentiment is also a new from the the set Loving Thoughts (this is definately another must have).

Santa Gum Holder

This week at Stampin' Royalty we have a great Theme Challenge of Winter/Christmas! We would love to see what you have been creating lately so we hope you find the time to play along and be sure to check out the awesome projects that the other Goddesses have come up with.

These fun little gum holders are perfect for giving to friends, neighbours or popping in stockings and are super quick and easy to make.  You can find the basic directions in this post.

For these ones I used a 1 1/2 x 4" strip of Whisper White and just tore a little bit off along the edges. For the notch at the top I used the 1" Circle Punch. The belt is 3/4" x 2 1/2 Basic Black with a 1" square of Brushed Silver and a 3/4" square of Basic Black. The words are from Delightful Decorations and was punched out with the 3/4" Circle.

Loving Thoughts of Wonderful You

It's Tuesday and I I am here with a great sketch challenge from Try Stampin' on Tuesday! I even got to play with some goodies from the upcoming Occasions Mini and Sale a bration (SAB) mini catalogues:)

I used a new favourite colour combo of mine: Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade. The tag was created by cutting a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock and inserting one end into the 2 1/2" Circle punch to create the rounded top. I then spritzed, Misted, smooched and sponged the heck out of it. The floral image is a new set from SAB called Fresh Vintage and I stamped it in Whisper white Craft Ink.


Can you see any more new items on the card?  I am telling you the new mini and SAB this year will knock you socks off! The very thin Organdy Ribbon and the gorgeous Designer Series Paper are also part of the SAB collection this year (which you can earn for FREE).  I also used another new favourite set called Loving Thoughts (upcoming Occasion Mini) , the font is just so beautiful in this one and has 11 different words and phrases. To fork the banner for the sentiment I used the top of the Full Heart Punch which created a slight curve on the ends.

I Have Bright Hopes

Hmmm, I feel like I should reintroduce myself here:) It's been two weeks since my last post, but I am happy to report that (fingers crossed) my house is finally germ free, and I actually got to stamp a card tonight just because!

I had been frantically trying to finish up some projects for Stampin' Up!, so with every one being sick it left little time for any personal stamping. I am also happy to report that they are all finished and shipped to Utah earlier this week, so I will be back to creating and posting on here. I also took a little break from my DT commitments but the wonderfuls ladies at Try Stampin' on Tuesday and the awesome goddesses at Stampin' Royalty have been creating up a storm so be sure to check out their challenges this week and I will be back playing next week.

Okay on to the card:

Brights Hopes is definately one of my most favourite stamp sets ever. I just LOVE it, and need to get as much ink on it as I can before the current mini catalogue comes to and end at the begining of January. Splitcoast Stampers had the perfect holiday colour challenge this week: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake.  These colours also seemed perfect for the current challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments of an "Old Fashioned Christmas". I can not tell you how good it felt to sit, stamp and play along with a few challenges:)

It is hard to tell in the photos but the card has been sprayed with a generous amout of Vanilla Smooch Spritz (you can see it a little better if you click on the photo. I'll list all the supplies and if you have any questions please just shoot me an email or leave me a comment:)
