Celebrate with Outlined Occasions

Well we are back from our Disneyland adventure and I can't wait to go through all the photos I took and start scrapping them:), but for now I thought I would share with you another scrapbook page that I created for the Stampin' Up! Leadership displays. Unfortunately a lot of the samples that I created did not end up on display there but we (the Artisan Award Winners) were told a head of time that some of them would be used in the European market as well as displayed at other upcoming events. In any event I thought this page turned out cute and the photo totally makes me smile.

This was taken on my youngests's 3rd birthday, and it's hard to believe that she soon will be 5! The stamp set used for this particular page is the new Outlined Occasions that can be earned for FREE right now during Sale a bration!The page itself is 8x8 Blushing Bride card stock that was layered with a piece of Just Add Cake Designer Series paper. I stamped the word "Celebrate" directly on the dsp then coloured it in with markers. The picture was placed on an angle over another piece of patterned paper from the same pack. To create the hanging banner I used some White Bakers Twine, 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon and my favourite Wide Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Wild Wasabi. I stamped on the center pennant using Black StazOn and added a glimmer brad and punch flower to the other two.

Reflect in The Moment with My Digital Studio

It's Wednesday and that means another great challenge at Stampin' Royalty. It also means that i am on day 3 of my Disney vacation with my family and I am sure that we are having a blast! (I hope, as it is still Sunday night here while I type this and some packing still needs to be done:)

This week is a picture Inspiration Challenge and if you have been following my blog for any amount of time, you may know that these are my favourite!

Aren't these colours just so fresh and vibrant? I was totally inspired by the flowers and decided to create a digital scrapbook page using My Digital Studio of course.


It has been awhile since I have done any MDSing so I was more than due to create this page. I am really pleased with the way it turned out because when I first started it I had no idea what I was going to make:) I started with Daffodil Delight as my base then lightened the Opacity to about 80%. The flowers are from the Field Flowers Download and they were stamped in Very Vanilla with the Opacity lightened as well. The words "reflect" and "the moment" are from the new Twitterpated Kit. I wanted to play with the reflect word so I stamped it again and mirrored the image (this is just one of the small reason I soooo LOVE MDS) then really lighten the opacity so that the word appears to be a reflection. I am just in love with all the layouts I have been seeing lately with hanging flags so I used the Flag Punch Download and resized several of them then filled them in with various patterned papers. I also used the Pear Pizzazz Bakers Twine and an Island Indigo Button.

"A"n Elementary Elegance Layout

This scrapbook page is by far one of my most favourite that I had ever created:) Again this was one that I sent off to Stampin' Up! for displays, but I do really plan on recreating it. It is of my oldest daughter Abby (her full name is Aberdeen, yes there is Scottish blood in this family,lol) so that is what the "A" is for.

Also just wanted to let you all know that my posting will be sparatic this week (as if it is routine any way:) but my family and I are headed to Disenyland for the week for our first ever big family vacation! We are so excited so you can bet there will be lots of pictures when I return. The only thing that I am a little concerned about is not having any access to the internet while I am away-hopefully I will be having to much fun to notice.

I used a lot of different elements on this page with the main focus being the Elementary Elegance Stamp set and Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper that will soon be available to earn for FREE! I won't go into too many details as I should be packing and not typing:), but if you have any questions please feel free to ask. The page itself is 12x12 Textured Crumb Cake card stock and has been sprayed with the Colour Spritzer Tool and Vanilla Shimmer and Log Cabin Smooch Spray. The piece behind the photo is Vellum Card stock and it was dray embossed using the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Folder.

The frame image was stamped in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and Heat Embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, the "A" is from Loverly Letters and was stamped using Poppy Parade.



The flower was created using Very Vanilla card stock and the Fun Flower Die. The center is Island Indigo card stock that was punched using the Boho Blossom Punch and then a brad from the Everyday Enchantment pack with alarge pearl on top. I also layerd in a few loops of Luckly Limeaide Organza Ribbon.

My Fresh Vintage Daughter

So right now as I type this several of my Stampin' friends are enjoying their last day at the annual Stampin' UP! Leadership Conference. January is always a busy month around here so I have never been able to attend in the past, and I was really hoping for this year but unfortunately it just didn't work out:( However I know that I will hear all about it and am excited for some new and exciting changes that that been announced.

I was fortunate enough to be asked along with the other Artisan Award Winners to create some samples for displays. This was such a privilliage and I am so excited to now be able to share them here. Trust me it was hard to not share these sooner as I had started working on them back in the begining of November. I decided to share a scrapbook page first as scraping is definately my first love, although I find I have not been doing enough of it lately.

This picture is of my youngest daughter Isabelle. I just love this photo and knew it would work perfectly for the Sale a Bration (SAB) Fresh Vintage Stamp Set. We were asked to make several different projects for each of the stamp sets that we were given and to make them the focus. I stated with an 8x8 piece of Textured Riding Hood Red Card stock and stamped the floral image all over then using some Tea Stain Ink (Destressing Essentials Kit)  I sponged around the edges.

On the actual photo itself using Stazon Ink I stamped two more of the images from the set, then matted it onto some Baja Breeze that had been destressed around the edges. Again using Riding Hood Red Ink I stamped the floral image, this time on some First Edition DSP. The word daughter is from the set Family Reunion and was stamped on a a piece of Very Vanilla Textured punch out, spritzed with water then using the Tea Stain Ink I dragged it across the paper. I then added a Postage Stamp Punch out from the Everday Enchantment DSP (SAB), some Basic Gray Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and a little Trinket Key. Lastly I stamped "key to my heart" from You're a Gem.

Simply Up in the Air Over You

Yay it's Wednesday and we have a FAB colour challenge this week at Stampin' Royalty! I decided to create a very clean and simple card to showcase the colours. Be sure to check out what the other Stampin' Royalty goddesses have come up with, their samples this week are sure to inspire:)

I kkind of surprised myself with this one, as usually when Crumb Cake is involved I tend to make that the focus colour. This time however I decided the let the DSP do the work. This pattern is from the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper pack and this particular piece had alot of the challenge colours in it. I used the Labels Framelits to partially cover up one of the balloons as it had yellow in it (clever right,lol?!)

The sentiment is from the stamp set Up and Away and I added a little Small Heart punched from Crumb Cake DSP and a Pumpkin Pie button. To finish the card off I wrapped some Lucky Limeaide Bakers Twine around the top layer three times and tied it into a bow. I think this would make a great masculine Valentines:)

Sending Loving Thoughts

It's Tuesday so that means another sketch for you to try at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! I got to design the sketch for this week as well so if you can find the time we would love to see you play along and be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with. I also was so inspired by the current Colour Challenge at The Paper Players (and their DT samples this week are amazing, as always) that I just had to use them.

 

I really don't make sympathy cards very often (thankfully), and when I do need them alot of times I don't feel like stamping so I decided it would be good to create a few to have on hand. I used something on this card that I also don't do very often-*gasp* I used a retired stamp set. I was really in the mood to water colour and I had a few of the images from On The Grow (from the 2011 Summer Mini) already stamped out. I just love this image of flowers in a mason jar. I stamped it on WaterColour paper then coloured it with Ink Pads, Markers and an Aqua Painter and matted it on some Blushing Bride Textured Card stock. Then of course I had to use my Colour Spritzer Tool with a Sahara Sand Marker.


I placed a few mini Pearl Jewels in the center of the flowers. This main image was then attached to 2 pieces that were cut from the Paper Doily Large Sizzlet and a piece of DSP from the Twitterpated pack. The large piece DSP is from the Every Day Enchantment pack (available during Sale a Bration (SAB) starting Jan. 24). I then used some gorgeous Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon and also the SAB Organdy Ribbon. The small half doilies (from Kindness Matters) were stamped using the matching ink a long the top of the card stock, now here is where I kind of goofed with the colour challenge- I was going from memory and thought that the green was Lucky Limeaide so that is what I used:) Lastley the sentiment is from Loving Thoughts.

Fabric Butterfly Love

Good morning, Eek I am late posting today as well, but I am happy to report that hubby is feeling a little better and will hopefully return to work by Friday.

So it's Wednesday and that means a great challenge at Stampin' Royalty. This week we have a recipe challenge to use Fabric in your project. Be sure to check out the Design Teams' amazing samples and I am so jealous of those of you that have crazy sewing skills- sigh I will one day learn:) I am also going to play along with Paper Players again this week as I created this card for a friend to show my appreciation and love for her:)

So again lots of goodies from the Occasions Mini. The base of the card is Riding Hood Red and the bottom was embossed using the Textured Impressions Adorning Accents Folder. I opted to die cut my fabric with the Beautiful Butterflies Die. Before I cut the fabric I attached it to some card stock using the Sizzix Big Shot Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets. These sheets are perfect to use if you want to make sure some is adhered edge to edge. Once I cut of the butterfly I then used the smallest heart from the new Hearts Collection Framlits and cut out a portion of one of the wings. I then created a hanging heart in the center using the Small Heart Punch and Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine and popped it on to a Blushing Bride butterfly using Dimensionals.


I am just in love with the new Framelits! I used the Labels Collection on this card to make the perfect back drop for the butterfly. I first cut out one size in Lucky Limeaide then I turn the die over (cut side up, not down) on the cut out label, lined it up and ran it back through to create an embossed edge. Then I cut out
the next size down in Whisper White and embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. The stamped banner is from Take It to Heart (which also has images that match the Hearts Framelits) and the sentiment is from Loving Thoughts.

Petite Pairs Doily

Well I must say that there is certainly never a dull moment in this household! Yesterday my hubby finally went to the Doctor after sustaining a hard knock to the head Saturday night during his soccer game ( he is a goalie and he still is not sure if it was the ball or a kick that hit him). Of course I was out of town with the kids visiting family so he was able to shrug it off over the phone with me saying that he would be fine-typical man! Anyway yesterday he finally decided it would be a good idea to get checked out ( he was still having a headache, was groggy and now experiencing blurred vision). The verdict-grade 2 concussion, so he is now home resting.

Anyway sorry about the long introduction but I just thought I would let you know what was going  here and why this post is going up so late. It is Tuesday so that means a new sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. This week was especially fun for me because I got to design the sketch:) We would love to have you play along with us this week. They are also having a "Love" Theme Challenge this week at The Paper Players (I absolutely love their challenges) so I kept that in mind when creating this card and decided to make a wedding card.

Wow this card is certainly girlie! But I just love all the new fun stuff in the Occasions Mini Catalogue. I kept very clean lines and absolutely no sponging or spritzing and I still like the way it turned out, lol. For the base of the card I used Pink Pirouette then layered it with a pice of DSP from Attic Boutique and then layered on half a die cut Doily (Paper Doily Sizzlet) also from the same DSP. The bold floral DSP strip is also from the Attic Boutique pack and the thin ribbon is the new Calypso Coral Organza that starting January 24th  will be available to earn for free during Sale a Bration.

I had some left over die cut hearts from this card just sitting on my desk and thought they would look cute in the center of the the doily then all I had to do was add a sentiment. I chose one from Petite Pairs ( a great set that has a match greeting for the outside and inside of the card) and punched it out with the Small Oval then added a cute Mini Library Clip and some Island Indigo Bakers Twine.
