Well here I am, and it is Sunday again already!? I have been swamped on the home front with the kids being home on Spring Break and I am also in the process of making 90 hand stamped wedding invites for my brother and his fiance. So I took the week off from stamping and bloggging but I am glad to be back with another fantastic challenge at The Paper Players. This is my fourth challenge with them as a Design Team memeber and I must say again how much I am enjoying "working" with these unbelievably talented ladies!
This week the always amazing Ann is our hostess and she has come up with a fabulous sketch for you to try. We would love to see what you come up with so if you can find a little stamping time please give this sketch a whirl:)
Hmmmm, this card is so cute IRL but no matter how hard I tried I just could't seem to get a decent picture. I kept the card really CAS, no distressing or sponging here:) I have been going through all my stamp sets lately and trying to use some that have not seen any ink in a long time. I remember when i first got Crazy for Cupcakes and how I could wait to ink up those sweet cupcakes on that pedestal. What you can't see in this picture is that I actually stamped the image on Shimmery White Card stock.
If you click on this photo to view it larger you will see how the frosting is actually really shimmery. I watercoloured the image using a mix of ink pads and a Blender Pen, then added the Smooch Illuminate Top Coat to give it a pearlized effect.
To add more interest and texture to the card I decide to doing some paper pleating on the piece of Pink Pirouette DSP then I wrapped some Ruffled Whisteria Wonder Ribbon around it and tied a bow. I also added some teeny pink rhinestone from Blossom Builders Printed Kit to the sentiment and on the main pice of DSP (from the Nursery Nest Pack). They are so itty bitty, but so cute!
So I want to challenge you to get sketchy with us at The Paper Players! The amazingly talented Design Team has some awesome inspiration and we would love to have you join us!
Have a great day!
Great card, Jenn! I do love those cupcakes and I think your idea is such a great one to use some sets you haven't inked up in awhile. The sentiment is the perfect finishing touch!

Ooooh, cupcakes and sparkle...two of my favorite things! Haha! This is such a fun card, Jenn! Love that pretty pleated accent, also. That is a great touch. HOpe you are having a great week! Big hugs! :)

And why is glimmer and shimmer so hard to photograph?? I can't do it for sure! Your card is adorable - love the polka dots and the pleated paper! I did my daughter's wedding invites and programs and place cards 3 years ago and felt like I was chained to my desk! Bet your invites are gorgeous!

Looks yummy! It is frustrating when the photograph won't cooperate, but it looks great from here! Fun way to use those ribbons. And I know what you mean about using some older sets!!!
