Okay so I will start off this post saying that I am well aware of the luke warm response Stampin' Up!'s new In Colour Summer Starfruit is getting. However it is one of my favourites! It is a wonderful go to colour to pair up with so many colours. So I have made it my mission to try and convince those that do not like it to at least give it a try:) The idea of showcasing this less than loved colour came from a very sweet comment from my friend Rita left on this card, telling me that I managed to make an ugly colour look good!
So for todays card I used Summer Starfruit with Pool Party, Basic Gray and Perfect Plum!
See, aren't these colours gorgeous together?! I started with a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" square card base of Summer Starfruit then embossed it using the Perfect Polka Dots Imporessions Folder. I then took a large piece of Basic Gray Card stock and stamped it with the Sweet Floral Background stamp using Basic Gray Classic Ink. I then placed two strips of Pool Party Card stock behind it; one of the pieces was die cut using the Adorning Accents Edgelit.
Next I stamped one of the labels from the Layered Labels set twice, once in Summer Starfruit and once in Early Espresso. I die cut the Summer Starfruit one using one of the shapes from the Apothecary Framelits, the other one I just punched out the center using the Large Oval Punch. To finish it off I added a Perfect Plum Taffeta Ribbon bow, and some Basic Pearl Jewels.
Have a great day!
LOL You are too funny, Jenn! There you go pairing that color with the delightfully yummy plum taffeta ribbon and the best color, Pool Party. It's starting to grow on me a bit, but keep on convincing. :)
