Well Summer has finally shown up here in Western Canada and we had a beautiful weekend full of sunshine and fun. Sorry for my lack of blogging lately but with kids home and me not feeling a 100% my creative mojo has been a little lack lustre. However I do have another Artisan entry to share today and I am also hoping to get some stamping done tonight:)
I am usually one to shy away from masculine cards but I just love the way this one turned out! I really wanted to create a wood like feel to the base of the card so I started with Soft Suede card stock then took the matching Classic Ink Pad and dragged it acroos the paper several times. Next I used my Whisper White Craft Ink Pad and also dragged it across to create a streaky white washed effect.
For the panel of DSP I punched out several different pieces and patterns from the Well Worn Designer Series Paper with the Petite Pennant Punch and carefully glued them together on a scrap of paper then matted it onto some Cajun Craze Card stock. The main image is from The Open Sea stamp set.
I really wish I had taken a picture of the inside as I carried the theme into there as well and also stamped the words "You Mean the World to Me " from the Word Play set.
Here is a full list of supplies:
Stamps: The Open Sea, Word Play
Inks: Early Espresso, River Rock, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White Craft Ink
Paper: Soft Suede, Naturals Ivory, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Well Worn Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, 3” Circle Die, 2 ½” Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Paper Piercer, Petite Pennants Builder Punch, Vintage Trinkets
Have a great day and I may even be back later with a NEW card!
