Affection Collection

Well today is a perfect day to post these display projects that use the stamp set Affection Collection, as it is my wedding anniversary:)  When I was creating samples for Stampin' Up!'s Convention this was the last stamp set that I did. I knew I wanted to create a few "wedding type" samples so I dug around for a developed picture from my wedding and created this 8x8 page. Our photos were done way back in the days of film, lol! I really need to get my negatives on a CD:)

I chose the colour scheme of Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla and Basic Black. I absolutely love all the images and words in this stamp set.

I also created this matching heart shaped favour box using the Heart Framelits and the same colour scheme.

Merry Moments

Here's an upclose look at all that shimmer. I just love the new Flourish Designer Frames and Frost White Shimmer Paint. To create the paint splatters I simply filled the lid of the Shimmer Paint with a few drops of it then took my Aqua Painter and made sure the tip was really wet. Then I just dipped it into the paint, mixed it around a little then flicked it on to the card stock using my finger nail.

Wish Big Birthday

I have been so caught up lately working on some projects using new products from the amazing Holiday Catalogue that I still haven't shown most of the projects that I have made for the display boards at the Stampin' Up! Convention. So with further ado here is another card using the You're Amazing Stamp Set.

I took the colour combo of Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo, and Daffodil Delight from the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper. Although surprisingly I used absolutely no DSP on this card! The card base is Calypso Coral then I used a large piece of Cherry Cobbler that had been stamped using the Ticket Stampin' Around Wheel using matching ink.

The main image was stamped using Jet Black StazOn on Water Colour paper, I coloured it in using an Aqua Painter and several different inks, then punched it out with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch. I also gave the background of the image a soft wash of colour using Pool Party. The sentiment is from the set Pennant Parade. I mounted it onto a piece of Island Indigo that had been embossed using the Stripes Textured Impressions Folder. Then before attaching it to the card base I added two pieces that were die cut using the Apothacary Accents Framelits  and embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder.

Fun with Fabric- Gratitude Wreath

This week at Stampin' Royalty we have a super fun Recipe Challenge -FABRIC! Now for those of you that know me or have followed my blog for any length of time, know that I really can't sew. I would love to learn one day but for now I have to find other creative ways to use Stampin' Up!'s amazing Designer Fabric:) Be sure to stop by and check out the fabulous samples the rest of the design team came up with.

So here's what I created:

Ummm.... so I have to admit I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out! Is that kind of bad to say you love something that you made? I started creating the Comfort Cafe Fabric Flowers at the begining of last week knowing that this challenge was coming up but they just sat on my desk for days because I was not sure what to do with them. Then I remembered that I had another small wreath like the one I created HERE.

To create the fabric flowers I took strips of about 1 3/4 inch wide and varying in length (from about 12" to 18", I think), then folder them over and attached the ends together with Sticky Strip. Next I snipped along the folded part, being careful not to snip all the way through. The fabulously talented LeAnne has a tutorial HERE. Depending on how tight or loose you roll the strip, will affect how large or small the flower is too. I wanted my flowers to be a little more flat so I rolled them a little looser and then pushed the center down when i was done. The other flowers were created using Pool Party Seam Binding and the 7/8 Cotton Ribbon (available in the Holiday Catalogue). I made them by tying a knot on one end then twisting and wrapping the ribbon around. To keep it together I placed a large drop of Hot Glue on the new Silcone Craft Sheet (also available in the Holiday Catalogue) and then pressed the ribbon flower onto it. Once it dried I just peeled it off! I stamped the word "gratitude" from Fabulous Phrases on Naturals Ivory Card stock then cut it out using the Bitty Banner Framelits. I then stuck it on a tooth pick to create a little flag.

For the top of the wreath I used some fabric from the Spice Cake Designer Fabric and created a large bow then added a Brushed Bronze Button with some Linen Thread. I wanted to be able to hang it on our front door so I took some 7/8 Cotton Ribbon and wrapped around a few times then created a loop. Lastly I attached the bow on top of it.

Grateful 4 You - Elements of Style

It's Tuesday again and that means sketch time at Try Stampin' on Tuesday! This week I kind of mixed it up and create a square sketch but of course you can adapt it to a stard size card too:) That's what I love about sketches-they are a great starting point.

For my card I pulled out one of my older but very well loved sets; Elements of Style.

I used this sketch to create a very feminine, vintage style card with lots of swirls and spritzing. The base of the card is a 4 1/4 square then I layered on a large piece of DSP from the Fan Fair Designer Series Paper pack that I had stamped one of the images in Basic Gray on. For the main image I stamped the flowers using Pink Pirouette ink, however I apparently didn't clean the stamp very well and the image turned out more of a pinky gray, but in this case it worked to my advantage because I like the effect:) However I now have a pink ink pad with some splotches of gray on it,lol!

For the word "grateful" I partially inked up a stamp from the set Pursuit of Happiness using my Basic Black Marker. As per the sketch I wanted to add the 3 embelishments but rather then just adding tiny pearls I used the teeny button brads from the Vintage Trinkets then placed the medium sized Pearl Jewels in the center. My favourite part of the card is the gorgeous Rose Red Seam Binding and all the embellistments that were added to it. I tied the ribbon around the DSP then added a scrap of Victorian Crochet Trim to the center of the knot. Next I tied some Linen Thread into a bow and added a mini safety pin (from the Vintage Trinkets) with a DSP tag. To finish it off I added a Paper Daisy that had been spritzed and folded.

An Afternoon Daydream

Happy Wednesday everyone! This week at Stampin' Royalty we have a fabulous sketch. The Design Team has really come up with some gorgeous samples for inspiration. We would love to see what you come up with!

Now I know I say that I love a lot of products from SU! but I really do LOVE the Simply Scrappin' Kits! For this card I used the Afternoon Daydream kit that consists of the colour combo of Pool Party, More Mustard, Primrose Petals, Basic Gray. I also used lots of new goodies from the Holiday Catalogue. The stip of More Mustard was embossed with the stunning Lacy Brocade Impressions Folder and the main image is framed with the gorgeous Flourish Designer Frames.

In this photo you can see a little more detail of the main image. I started by first stamping one of the images from Four Frames (love that it has the flourishes in it that perfectly match this kit!) andpunched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. The butterfly is also a die cut sticker from the kit, but I did a few things to alter it a bit. First I used the Embossing Buddy to take the stickiness of the back (I did this because I knew I wanted to pop it up with Dimensionals). Secondly the butterfly was white and I wanted it to contrast againts the label so I misted it with a homemade shimmer mixture. To create it I used the new Stampin' Spritzer and added some 70% Rubbing Alcohol a few drops of both Frost White and Champagne Mist Shimmer paints and about 5 drops of Pink Pirouette Reinker. It is so pretty in real life. You can see more of the details by clicking on the photo to view it larger.

Perfectly Preserved Just for You

It's sketch time at Try Stampin' on Tuesday and we really hope you can join us this week! I have been itching to get the new Perfectly Preserved set inky and this sketch was the perfect opportunity. I just love the fact that not only does this stamp set have the cutest images but there is also a matching set of Framelits so they can easily be cut out-LOVE THAT!

For this card the colour combo is Island Indigo, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Early Espresso, Lucky Limeaide and Raspberry Ripple. All of the colours that are found in the gorgeous Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper. With this sketch it is so easy to let different patterns from the DSP do most of the work,plus it helped me actually USE my pattern paper which I have a huge tendency to hoard:)

I started the card off by first embossing the front with the Stripes Impressions Embossing Folder then layered on several different patterns of DSP. The bottom strip was also wrapped with a piece of 7/8 Cotton Ribbon that was knotted. For the main image I created a tag as the focal point using Crumb Cake card stock. I stamped the jar image, the sentiment and apple on to Naturals Ivory card stock  then cut them all out using the Cannery Set and Bitty Banners Framelits. The jar top was also die cut from DSP then I tied some Linen Thread around it and finished it off with a tiny  Naturals Designer Button. Soooo cute!

You're Amazing Birthday Banner

Just a super quick post today but I thought I would share anoth project that I created using the You're Amazing stamp set. This is a super cute banner that was quick and easy to put together using the my Big Shot, Pefect Pennants Bigz Die and the Bitty Banners Framelits.

For this banner I used the World Spectacular Designer Series paper and the coordinating matching colours of ink pads and paper. One of my favourite things about Stampin' Up! is how there is no guess work-everything matches perfectly! The colours used for this project were Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral and So Saffron (for the ribbon)

A Lacy and Lovely Inspiration

This week at Stampin' Royalty we are having my favourite type of challenge-Photo Inspiration! For some awesome inspiration be sure to see what the rest of the Stampin' Royalty goddesses came up with!

As soon as I saw that gorgeous braclet I imediately thought of the Lacy and Lovely stamp set. I also remembered the Dasher card that I had created HERE and really loved the original card that I had cased the layout from. So I guess you could say that I was doubled inspired for this card!LOL The card base is Natural Ivory. I then created 3 panels from Very Vanilla and stamped the images using Tempting Turquoise, Baja Breeze and Island Indigo ink.  To mimic the the bling in the photo I added some Rhinestone Jewels.

Before I attached the panels I added some crumpled Very Vanilla Seam Binding and two tiny tags punched from the Jewlery Tag Punch. I then used lots of Dimensionals to attach them to the card base and then to finish everything off I added some spritzing using the Colour Spritzer Tool and a More Mustard Marker.

You're Amazing Birthday

Well it's time again for another fun sketch at try Stampin' on Tuesday! I just love checking out all the submissions each week and it's so fun to see what everyone comes up with using one of my sketches. Be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with this week and we hope you will get sketchy with us!

This card used the stamp set You're Amazing and the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper. Such a great colour combo of Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Early Espresso.

I created a tag by just snipping off the coners of my Whisper White card stock and added a piece of Calypso Coral paper that had been punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (one of my absolute FAVOURITE punches) I then added a piece of Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon with a staple.
