This week at Stampin' Royalty we have a colourful challenge for you! We are focusing on 3 of the new 2012-2014 SU! In Colours; Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green. Be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with for some awesome inspiration!
I made this card for a very special friend who just celebrated her birthday a few days ago. I will admit that although I am absolutely LOVING Summer Starfruit - Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green are still not on my favourites list:) However using the 3 of them together I will say they are starting to grow on me. The base of the card is Naturels Ivory I then layered on a large square of DSP from the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper pack (LOVE this paper), that had been matted with a piece of Gumball Green. Next I added a strip of Summer Starfruit card stock that had been embossed with one of the folders from the Delicate Designs Impression Folders.
The flower is from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and was stamped using Raspberry Ripple ink on Very Vanilla card stock then punched out with the Blossom Punch. For the top flower I curled the petals up a little using a Bone Folder then I stamped the center circle using Summer Starfruit and punched it out with the 3/4" Circle Punch. To give even more interest to the flower I added a In Colour Dahila to the middle and stuck on a Rhinestone Jewel to the center. The leaves were created using the Blossom Petals Builder Punch. One thing that is hard to see in the photo is that I sprayed a fine layer of homemade Shimmer Mist on the flower. I used 70% Rubbing alcohol and a few drops of both Champagne Mist and Frost White Shimmer Paint and mixed them in the new Stampin' Spritzer then sprayed it on.
