Happy Wednesday everyone! This week at Stampin' Royalty we have a fantastic and easy challenge - Use Die Cuts on your projects. Now we all have at least one type of die cutting machine, don't we?! I know I would personally be lost without my Big Shot:) So whatever your machine, we challenge you to use it and come up with a fabulous project!

So I have no idea what has taken me so long to cut into the gorgeous new Champagne Glimmer Paper!Using the new Snow Flurry Bigz Die (Holiday Catalogue) I cut some snowflakes from both the Champagne and Silver Glimmer Papers. Now I knew I needed this beautiful snowflake to be the star of the show, so I kept the card lay out very basic.

I embossed a piece of Soft Suede card stock with the Lacy Brocade Impressions Folder then sponged on some Frost White Shimmer Paint and Soft Suede Ink over the raised areas. Of course this card definitely needed ribbon, so what better one to add then the lovely Pool Party Seam Binding. I then spritzed the base of the card with a Pool Party Marker and Colour Spritzer Tool and stamped my sentiment in Early Espresso Ink. All in all this card was very quick and easy but sure makes an elegant impact-gotta love die cuts!

Dare to Dream

Today is a BIG day in our house-we officially now have a teenager living amongst us! My oldest daughter Abby is 13, wow I can not believe how incrediably fast these past 13 years have gone:) She is growing to to such a beautiful young woman on both the inside and out.

I decided to use this weeks sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday to create her a special birthday card.

As with all of my children, my greatest wish for her is to reach for the stars-dare to dream and realise that if she works hard and puts her mind to it she can achieve anything. So I decided to use a sentiment from Thoughts of You instead of your typical birthday greeting.

She loves the colour purple so I used several shades of it. I first stamped an image from Just Believe in VersaMark on Watercolour paper and embossed it using Clear Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool. Next I took the following ink pads: Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant, and using my Aqua Painter I washed colour across the paper.

Mamarazzi

Wow I can not believe we are nearing the end of September-where does the time go? The weeks are flying by and it seems as though my days are still filled with playing constant catch up:) I am sure there are a lot of you that can relate.

So the other day I decided to take the time to try and capture a few photos of my 5 year old playing around on our front lawn. Well, apparently according to my children I am a relentless photographer-AKA "the MAMARAZZI" so I decided to go with it,haha. And of course after our "photo shoot" this is the page I came up with:

Seriously cute,right?! Even the photo of her pout makes me smile. I really do love how easy MDS2 make it for me to create a scrap page that has lots of elements and depth but takes so much less time then traditional scrapping. Although I will NEVER give up my paper scrapping (I LOVE doing it); MDS2 gives me a great option for some instant (well, almost I still spent a good hour on this page) gratification:)

Pursuit of Happiness-Do good

Happy Tuesday everyone! We hope you can join us this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday for another fun sketch. It has been so great lately to see so many fabulous enteries each week :)

Before I get to my sample I will start off by saying that I made my card and was not totally pleased with it. You know when something is one way in you head but when go to recreate it you just feel like something is missing. Well that is what happened to me last night! I was having one of my usuall bouts of insomnia and it was 2am and just could NOT fall back asleep so I went down to my craftroom and decided to tweak my sample for this week's sketch, lol

I ended up adding a destressed strip of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper under the Very Vanilla Seam Binding to give just a little more contrast, I think it just steps it up a little bit. I used two SU! colours that I know are not well loved by a lot of people but I love River Rock and Bravo Burgundy when combined with Pink Pirouette and Early Espresso, I also added in the Pool Party butterfly for an extra pop of colour:)

I really love this sentiment from the stamp set Pursuit of Happiness, can you imagine what the world would be like if we all just tried to live by these words?

Orchard Harvest Thanks

Wow what a crazy week and a half! I apologize for posting this weeks Try Stampin' on Tuesday a little late but apparently the back to school early mornings  and all the other kids activities that this time of year brings has seriously wiped out my crafting time:) I hope you can join us this week as we have a super fun sketch!

Lots of goodies from the Holiday Catalogue on this one:) The base of the card is Early Espresso. For the large card stock layer I simply took a piece of Naturals Ivory card stock that had been embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder and attached 3 strips of 1/2" wide DSP from the Orchard Harvest pack on angle. I made sure the strips were longer then the card stock so I could just snip the excess off. I spritzed the opposite corners with the Colour Spritzer Tool and a Luckly Limeaide Marker then tied around some hemp twine and added a Brushed Bronze Designer Button.

The leaves were die cut from Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, and More Mustard card stock using the Big Shot and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. Once cut out I crumpled them up, then sponged them with their match ink colour. The setiment is from the Word Play stamp set and was stamped using Early Espresso ink, spritzed with Island Indigo then punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.

Colourful Friendly Phrases

It's Wednesday and that means another fabulous challenge at Stampin' Royalty! This week we have a Colour Challenge with 3 of my favourite colours- Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. YUMMY!

To get my creativity going I also used a fantastic sketch from the talented Mindy Backes. She has a new challenge site with an amazing DT line up, called Fab Friday.

 

Aren't these colours just gorgeous together? I started with a Crumb Cake base and embossed it with the Lacy Brocade Impressions Folder, then layered on a piece of Very Vanilla that had been stamped with the En Francais Background stamp in Crumb Cake Ink (I first stamped off to create a lighter colour). Next I stamped the Hello Doily Background stamp in Soft Suede Ink.

For the center of the doily I stamped one of the images from Lacy and Lovely in Pool Party Ink and punched it out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch. I then added a punched out buterfly from the Papillion Potpourri stamp set. The DSP is from the gorgeous Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper pack and the sentiment is from my go to set Friendly Phrases. To add some more dimension and interest I added a scrap of Pool Party Seam Binding then layered on a Vintage Faceted Designer Button that I added a Pearl Jewel to the center of. Lastly I just had to pull out my favourite tool-the Colour Spritzer! Using a Pool Party and Crumb Cake Marker I added a few spritzes of colour:)

Greetings of the Season

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today is a BIG day in my house because for the first time ever I will have all 3 of my children in full day schooll! My oldest is starting High School and my youngest will be in Kindergarten-wow where does the time go?!

Any who, we have another great sketch this week over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday and we would love to have you join us this week! And I know my card is not quite "in season" yet but I figured if I started now I may just get my Christmas cards actually done this year!

Not very much stamping on this card but I just love the font of the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from the stamp set Greetings of the Season (available in the Holiday Catalogue). I really like this CAS layout as it has so many possibilities. For my card I decided to keep it simple and focus on creating texture and using 3 different patterns from the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper.

The colour combo of Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler,and Very Vanilla was taken directly from the DSP. I added 3 Rhinestone Jewels to the center flag for some added bling and dressed the card up a bit with the fabulous Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon. The layer of Gumball Green was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder and the Big Shot.
