Looking for some Bright Ideas?

Okay so I have been in a little bit of a creative slump lately and with everyday life being challenging and crazy at the moment (when is it ever not?!) I am really needing something to get my creative mojo going. So that is why I am super excited from the upcoming Bright Ideas Class at Studio Calico!

You are definately going to want to check out Nicole's Pinterest Board that she created specifically for sneaks of the class content. Or you can also check out this thread on the Studio Calico message board as well as today's post on the Studio Calico Blog.

Here's a little a little bit about the class:

In a creative slump? Find your way out with these BRIGHT IDEAS! Nicole Samuels will be guiding you through 20 creative challenges designed to make you look at paper and glue in a whole new light. We've brought together an awesome group of contributors - Adrienne Alvis, Amy Tan, Gillian Nelson, Jen Jockisch, Laura Kurz, Lexi Bridges, Lisa Truesdell, Paige Evans, Shannon Tidwell and Tina Aszmus - to help bring her challenges to life and give you even more ways to play with your supplies. Nicole and her contributors have a wide range of styles - from simple to detailed - and all have a way of looking outside the box when using their supplies.

A new PDF will be posted each weekday in February - you can work at your own pace, or challenge yourself to tackle one each day! Each PDF will contain a challenge designed to stretch your creativity: a new layout from Nicole or one of her contributors, a sketch, and extra ideas and inspiration from Nicole. In addition, Nicole will be posting a video each Wednesday sharing more bright ideas pulled from her own layouts or layouts in the class gallery. Students will also receive printables from Hello Forever and In A Creative Bubble, and diecut files (.studio, .png and .svg) from Nicole and Kinsey Wilson.

At just $12 this class is a steal. The digital files alone are so worth it not to mention all of the amazing examples the contributors have come up with. But you have to hurry and register before the end of the day January 31st as the class starts on February 1st and once it is in progress there is no opportunity to join.

Join us in the Front Row at Studio Calico!

It's Reveal Time at Studio Calico and February's kits are full of fun names! The main kit this month is called Front Row and they had lots of fun coming up with names for the Add ons- Big Screen, Popcorn, Matinee and Junior Mints. Oh my goodness the Card Kit this month has a super cute stamp set. It was a little out of my comfort zone but I managed to create 4 cards using just the main kit:) It was nice to reach out and create something a little different.

Here are my cards for this month that are only using the Card Kit:

I did a little heat embossing on vellum this month, some misting and even a little doodling!

Here are the 3 cards I made using the 3 of the Add ons. They were so amazing this month that I just had to get 3;)

This one uses the Big Screen Add on

and this one uses the Junior Mints Add on.

Oh I can't believe in a few short days it will be reveal time for the February Kits at Studio Calico! Just to tie you over until midnight of the 27th I thought I would share a few sneaks of what I have been up too:)

February's Main Card Kit definately had me create outside my comfort zone so it was really fun for me to actually see what I ended up with.

Front Row Sneak Peeks- Studio Calico

Hi everyone! I apologize for such a long absence but 2013 is is starting off to be a be year of changes and challenges. Without going into too much detail I will just say that life has thrown me a few curve balls lately family and health wise that have needed my attention and has left little time for paper crafting. However I am bound and determined to make this a great year:)

And this one again is just using the Card Kit. Oh ya, and just a little Mr. Huey's Mist -so LOVE that stuff:)
