Also every month we have a ton of fun in the Community Chatroom one hour before the kits are released so be sure to join us!
*all links that are not active will go live at Reveal for non subscribers*
And what could make and amazing Card Kit even better?!
Matching Dies! These are the dies for the main card kit. I love that for this month Studio Calico released separate matching dies for the stamps in both the Card Kitand Card Kit Add on Taffy-so awesome!
Studio Calico's February Kits Sugar Rush are only several hours away from being revealed, so I thought I would quickly pop in with a few more peeks at the cards I made for this month's gallery. I also wanted to share some of my must have items that I used along with my kits.
Here is a look at the upcoming kits:
I used a lot of the Digital Files this month and they were so fun and easy to work with. These digital card kit stamp brushes were a must have for me! Love how affordable and easy they are to use. The other cool thing is they come with blank cut files that can be used with the Sillouette machine-no more fussy cutting needed!
I had a ton of fun with this one creating a collage style card using both the Sugar Rush Card Kit and Taffy Card Kit Add On. (links will go live for non-subscribers at midnight EST Jan 28th)
This card is another little peek at just using the main Card Kit. I have a huge crush on Sugar Rush! So many possibilities with the stamp set that is included in this kit, they are really versitile.
It's almost time for Studio Calico's February Kits to be revealed! And oh my they are so fresh and fun you will be yearning for Spring:)
We are still quarantined here at the Picard household-ugh finally got one kid back to school yesterday and then another started throwing up last night! Yes these are the little joys that make up parenting, lol!
But I have been trying my best to whip up some cards using the Sugar Rush Card Kit and Taffy Card Kit Add On.
Here is just a little peek of 3 of the cards I have made for this months gallery:
These two use just the Card Kit
And this one was created with the Taffy Card Add On along with some really awesome Digital Printables (LOVE them this month!)
If you are interested in picking up one these great kits I recomend that you start a subscription because last month's card kit SOLD OUT! A subscription has so many great benifits you can read all about how Studio Calico works HERE.
As I mentioned before Christmas I started a Project Life Subscription and I can't wait to start sharing my pages with you!
EMBRACE..... only 7 letters but to me I think this is such a powerful word with so much meaning and that is why I choose it this year for my "one little word" or my version of Ali's One Little Word concept. I have been toying with the idea about having "a word" for the past few years and decided last month that 2014 was the year to "embrace" this concept:) Words can be powerful and I really think focusing on one important word through out the year can certainly help bring clarity.
When I looked up the definition for my word here is what I found:
emĀ·brace
1. to take or clasp (another person) in the arms, or (of two people) to clasp each other, as in affection, greeting, etc; hug
2. to accept (an opportunity, challenge, etc) willingly or eagerly
3. to take up (a new idea, faith, etc)
4. to comprise or include as an integral part
5. to encircle or enclose
So why did I choose Embrace? Well, here's the thing about me-I am not very good at accepting things as they are, I have to question everything and challenge things if I feel that it is not the way "I" think it should be. *sigh* sometimes this can be a good thing other times (a lot of times), it is not. I am not spontanious at all, I don't really ever "live in the moment" I need to know about "the moment" before it happens or I can get bent out of shape really easily. I do not ever "go with the flow" and I one thing I have learned sadly is that I am stressing out and missing out on a lot of things; especially when it comes to my children. So this is the year to embrace all things-the good, the bad and the ugly!
Speaking of embracing, I am in love with the fun script lettering that I have seen popping up all over the place in the paper crafting world! So I thought I would try my hand at it and a few things that I have learned are a) it is way harder then it looks and b) now I am really glad that I signed up for the Life l Scripted Classat Studio Calico. I mean there is no doubt that Kal Barteskiis the master of script so when Studio Calico announced it's February Class I jumped right in and signed up!
Here's a video peek at Kal's work:
Doesn't that look like fun? You can find several of the items Kal suggested for the class right HERE in the Studio Calico shop. Hope to "see" you get inky in the class, as I know that these cool script skills can translate to so many different types of projects!
Oh and I would love to hear from you and if you plan to take on One Little Word this year, just leave me a message in the comments:)
Have a great day!
