The time has arrived and the Studio Calico October kits are revealed! I can now share with you the card I made using The Underground Card Kit.
The October Card kit comes packed with a vibrant mix of geometric, floral, and patterned papers, a 4x6 stamp set, super cute arrow and feather metal dies, flair and more!
Here's a love at the cards I created using just the main card kit.
The gorgeous bronze paper was just crying to be die cut! I kept this card relatively CAS and added interest to the design by creating a diagonal cut out and adding in some b/w patterned paper. Of course this card won't be complete with a few splashes of Mister Huey's Mist:)
The gorgeous map paper imediately caught my eye when I first received my kit and I knew I just had to add pair it with the super cool wood veneer that the orange twine came wrapped around. I inked the edges of the patterned paper add a few drops of Opague White Mister Huey's (one of my favourites). Then dressed the wood veneer up with the Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. This product is a must have for me, I especially love how it adds just the right amount of sparkle with out any mess!
For this card I decided to have fun with watercolours. I started out with watercolour paper for my card base then scribbled the background with 3 colours (Raspberry Red, Prussian Blue and Lemon Yellow) then spread the colour around with my Watercolour Brush. Love how the Neocolors are so easy to control and blend. I then again used several mists and added some stamping to the background. I think it is so fun to have a sentiment stamp that you can customize you saying to match any occasion!
For this card I keep it pretty simple and focus on the patterned papers and the gorgeous kraft pocket tag. I stamped the sentiment on some watercolour paper and created a little pull out greeting. I think the tags are so pretty and versitile and would be perfect to tuck a little something special into:)
I thought that I would do something a little different this month and share with you what I have ordered this month, after all I am a paper crafter (just like you) and I love receiving new products ight to my door. I almost do all of my paper crafting shopping now at Studio Calico because I love the ease of the kits being already put together for me with all of the latest and great products plus cool exclusives. One of the other major perks to shopping at Studio Calico is all of my purchases that I make between Reveal and the end of the month get bundled with my Project Life Subscription for one shipping charge-no matter how many times I check out over those few days!
So when I receive my happy mail next month it will be filled with the following:
The Main Project Life kit. I really love getting this kit every month. Project life has really changed the way I am able to document my photos and share them with my family (or who ever wants to look at them lol) I still love doing traditional layouts as well but I find that the PL kit has lots of wonderful elements that can work perfectly on regular scrap pages as well. And when you are a subscriber it cost only $19.99 (+ shipping) a month!
There are also several add ons every month and this month I added:
The Baker Street Add on. Love the bold bright colours and cool diamond rub ons. Just check out what the Project Life Creative Team did with these kits.
And I also got the Kings Cross Embellishment Kit, perfect to use in my PL, traditional scrapping and even card making.
I also could not resist this awesome Cozy Cards Set by Tina from Life.Live.Paper. I have mad love for basically all that she makes.
And there were a few more things that just happened to "jump" into my cart;)
So excited this Tabs and Die set has been restocked, it flew out of the shop when it first launched and I am not sure how much longer it will be there, it has been super popular. I was thinking it will be perfect for the "new organized" me,hehe. So glad I am taking Marcy's Agenda Class and I know this set will be great to use with my new planner. And tabs are also so popular now on scrapbook pages and cards.
Oh and I just had to order this adorable little We are Memory Keeper 4x4 mini album. My daughter just celebrated her 15th bithday last week and she bought herself a cute little Instax Camera and I though it would be cute to put those photo in plus some of her instagram pics.
So now that is a peek into what I will be receiving when my Studio Calico box arrives.
I promise I will get better at sharing what I make with all of the goodies I order just for me and my personal projects.
Have a great day!
