Welcome back to another Fancy Friday Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that have been or are currently on the Artisan Design Team. We love sharing our passion for creating with all of you and hope to inspire along the way. This month our projects were inspired by the Year Of Cheer Suite in the current Holiday Catalogue. The products in this suite are full of beautiful Mixed Mettalics. Bronze, golds, silvers and champagne.
Mixed metals are so on trend right now, you see them everywhere from jewelry to clothing and home decor.
I was so inspired by the theme that I ended up creating three cards! For all three cards I used the Flurry of Wishes stamp set, one of my favourites. Now only 25 or so more to go and then I will be finished my Christmas cards, lol.
For this card I let the gorgeous foiled Year Of Cheer DSP take center stage. I added some foiled washi and backed the die cut circular sentiment on some gorgeous platinum foil paper that was die cut with one of the circle Stitched Shapes dies. To add a little extra bling I attached a few metallic sequins, this finishes the card off nicely while still keeping it very clean looking.
My second card makes use of the Winter Wonder Impressions Folder on vellum, I love how it creates a "frosty" look. I decided I wanted to again keep very clean lines but this time I added layers by creating a cluster of products together. A punched out sentiment, layered on top of a die cut circle gives interest. Next I placed my cluster of embellishments; a pretty foil snowflake and some Sequin Trim tied with Linen Thread. So simple to create, but it really adds a fun element.
The final card took a few attempts before I was happy with the final result, yes that totally happens to me too. I actually set it aside and came back to it the next day, sometimes that is all it takes or other days they get binned, lol. I used an embossed piece of vellum again like on my second, but this time I decided to have it more of a background piece and let the sentiment be the focal point. I did some fun layering with a strip of DSP, Gold Foil, half of a Doily and some gorgeous Shimmer Ribbon. After all of that I still felt the card need something and then I remember the tiny cute little stars in the Hearts & Stars Elements. I just added one and finished it off with a little Rhinestone Jewel.
Now it's time to visit the next blog on the hop. I am thrilled to send you to my sweet friend, the amazingly talented Jeanna Bohanon.
Now I better go get some more Christmas cards made, at this rate they most likely be New Year's cards instead!
These are all stunning!
