It's the last Friday of the month and that means I am back hopping with my Fancy friends!
Welcome back to the Fancy Friday Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that have been or are currently on the Artisan Design Team. We love sharing our passion for creating with all of you and hope to inspire along the way.
This month with are focusing our challenge on the many amazing coordinating bundles that Stampin' Up! has to offer in the current 2018-19 Catalogue. There are so many to choose from that it was hard for me to narrow it down, but in the end I went with the Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature's Roots Framelits. This is definitely one of the more pricier bundles in the Catalogue, but I feel it is worth every penny and more, due to it's versatility and the fact that you get 16 individual stamps and 12 dies. I love that Stampin' Up! offers so many stamp sets with matching punches or framelits, it helps make creating so much easier.
For this card I really wanted the stamps and framelits to be the star, gasp absolutely no DSP insight! I started with a card base of Thick Whisper White card stock then layered on a piece of Cajun Craze to create a mat for my watercoloured piece. I first created a watercolour wash using an Aquapainter on the Watercolour Paper with Tranquil Tide, Grapefruit Grove and Blackberry Bliss Classic Inks. Then using the new Big Shot Embossing Mats I took the leaf Framelits and embossed them all over the front of the paper panel. Watercolour Paper is perfect for getting a nice deep embossed image on.
I then stamped two coordinating leaf images on Watercolour Paper; one in Tranquil Tide and the other in Cajun Craze, then die cut them out with the matching framelit. Using an Aqua Painter I softened the ink. For the Cajun Craze one I also added a small amount of Blackberry Bliss and some drops of water to blur the ink. I think one of my favourite things to do with the Stampin' Up! Classic Inks is watercolour with them, they blend out so beautifully.
Here's a look at the full card, not a lot of layers or fancy techniques, but add a little watercolour and some embossing and you definitely can create a card that is fancy :)
Now be sure to check out the next Fancy Friend on the hop, the extremely talented Dani Dziama! I am sure she will wow you with her project.
