Hello everyone and welcome back to another Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! We are a group of 16 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world that were chosen to represent Stampin' Up! over the course of the 2019 year, through blog hops, Facebook posts and corporate blog posts. Each month we will be be focusing on a particular set of products to bring you inspiration from around the globe Stampin' Up! style.
This moth we got to work with the embroidery inspired Needlepoint Nook Suite of products. This suite has it all, adorable stamp set, cute mini buttons, coordinating dies and fabulous coloured linen thread. I'll be honest when I first got a peek at the Occasions catalogue it was not on the top of my list, but that is one of the things I love about Stampin' Up!, they offer such a variety of products that there is something for everyone. However once I started working with it I was really pleased with my project in the end.
When it comes to paper crafting scrapbooking still has my heart. I may not do it as often as I would like to, but I am slowly chipping away at the stash of photo that I want to get into albums. when I first saw this suite I thought it was very feminine for obvious reasons. I decided to create a page to show that it can work using a photo of my son as well, by using mostly the "B" side of the patterned paper in the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper my page nicely showcases the photo of my daughter and son. I created my layout directly on a full piece of DSP, I know it can be hard to use up that pretty paper, but I encourage you to go for it!
The Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies not only cut out several of the stamped images, they also include several coordinating accent pieces. I love how there is a die that embosses a label shape and the Pretty Label Punch punches is perfectly. (Confession time: I do not have this punch so I hand cut my label, but I would much rather punch than fussy cut, lol)
When designing the actual page layout I decided a grid style background would work great with the quilted feel of the products. The layout itself is very simple. But by adding layers of stamped images and die cuts along with some linen thread and an adorable mini button I was able to add dimension and texture without overwhelming the simple design and let the photos shine.
Next on the hop is the very talented Kaylee van Es, she always has something amazing to show! And remember to check out each one of the blog on the hop for inspiration on how to use this fun and colourful suite of products!
