Fancy Friday- No White Challenge

Welcome to the Fancy Friday Blog Hop! I am so excited to be back stamping and blog hopping with my fancy friends! We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that have been or are currently on the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team. We love sharing our passion for creating with all of you and hope to inspire along the way.

This month we were definitely given a challenge! The challenge was to create a project using no white at all-no white paper, ribbon etc. Considering that I would say 95% of my paper crafting projects have at least some white cardstock to stamp on, I certainly had my work cut out for me. However I do love a good challenge, so of course I couldn't miss out on this one!

I took a break from my last minute Christmas projects and decided to finally ink up the super cute Amazing Everything Stamp Set. Plus I also needed a birthday card for my 12 year old daughter to give to her friend and I have some how managed to deplete my stash of birthday cards.

Now anyone that knows me or follows my paper crafting, should know that I am a huge lover of patterned papers. I will rarely create a card without it, not that I can't I just love all of the gorgeous and fun patterns there are. Plus I usually like to add layers to my projects. And I'll admit it, I'm a bit of a lazy stamper, why spend all of your time stamping when pretty paper can do at least some of the work?! For this card I used the super fun Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper. I love how Stampin' Up's DSP is patterned on both sides so you always have a lot of options. Although I used the more plain paper designs I kept with the colour combination in the pack. I used Pool Party, Crushed Curry and Pacific Point.

Now, because I couldn't stamp on my go to Whisper White Cardstock, I did one of my favourite things to do; stamp on DSP! I stamped the large sentiment image using VersaMark Ink then heat embossed it with Shimmer Black Embossing Powder. It is so pretty and sparkly in person. Almost has an iridescent shimmer to it. I also stamped to cute little stars on the DSP and the balloon images on the card base. Of course a 12 year old girl can never have to much sparkle so a few Rhinestones, Silver Glimmer Paper and Glittered Organdy Ribbon tied it all together.

Artisan Design Team December Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome back to another Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! This is a very special blog hop as it is the last one for the current 2019 team. I must admit typing that was a little bittersweet, but I will forever be blessed with the lifelong friends I have made throughout this year. It has been a true privilege to be able to represent Stampin' Up! over the course of the year, along with some very creative and inspiring women. I hope you have enjoyed following along my Artisan journey and will continue to visit my blog and follow me on my Instagram and Facebook page.

The Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team is a group of 16 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world, that were chosen to represent Stampin' Up! over the course of the year, through blog hops, Facebook posts and corporate blog posts. Each month the team will be focusing on a particular set of products to bring you inspiration from around the globe Stampin' Up!

This month we got to work with the super fun Tags, Tags, Tags and Tiny Keepsakes Bundles. Love how these bundles can work for several different occasions.

I used both bundles for this adorable banner card that would make a perfect show of affection for a friend or loved one. I started with the fresh colour combination of Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party and Rococo Rose. Thick Whisper White was used as a base and used the Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut layers from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and a piece of Pool Party DSP from the Subtles Designer Series Paper pack. A small layer of Vellum Cardstock helps to diffuse the pattern and make the banner pop. To create the banner I used dies from both bundles as well as the Tags Tags Tags Stamp Set and Rococo Rose DSP from the 2019-2021 In Colour Designer Series Paper pack. Tip: To have the Whisper White Bakers Twine stay in place I used a very tiny amount of Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue in a few areas to attach it.

The Tiny Keepsakes mini curvy box die is just way too cute! It is the perfect size to house a few Hersey's Kisses or a Ferraro Roche chocolate. It is also so quick and easy to create. All you need is one sheet of 6x6 piece of cardstock or DSP and a die cutting machine. the die cuts like butter and creates the score lines so all you have to do is fold along the lines to assemble, no adhesive needed! Tip: You can also create a two-toned box by cutting out two boxes, one from each pattern/paper. For my box I used a piece of Whisper White and stamped the lined pattern using Pool Party Classic Ink and a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. Cut the ends of of one piece, then the opposite ends off the other. Glue together and assemble. The sentiment was heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder and that sweet little heart is from the Heart Epoxy Droplets. These come clear, but can easily be coloured with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. Here I used Cherry Cobbler.

And last but not least I made this cute little coordinating box using the Rococo Rose DSP. Add a glimmer tag and some hearts and you can quickly create multiple sweet treat packaging in no time!

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop - Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peek

Hello everyone and welcome back to another Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! We are a group of 16 Stampin' Up! I got to work with the stunning Lovely Lily Pad stamp set. It includes 8 individual image stamps, but because this set is part of Stampin' Up's Reversibles collection of stamps you get 16 total images! Not familiar with reversible stamp sets, well let me tell you a little bit about this cool new product. On one side of the photopolymer stamp there is a detailed image and the other side will have solid mirrored image shape. For my card I used the large lily pad image to stamp the main flower on Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper and embossed it. Next I cleaned the stamp then flipped it over and inked it up with VersaMark and stamped repeatedly to create a background on the Mint Macaron card base.

TIP: The reason I chose to use Versamark for the background stamping is that it creates a much softer image as opposed to stamping the coordinating ink. VersaMark is perfect for creating a tone on tone or watermark effect. I also stamped the small lily pad image of the Petal Vellum Cardstock strip.

When I saw the beautiful large lily I just knew I wanted to do the paper piecing technique with it. I first stamped it once in VersaMark on the green DSP pattern and heat embossed with Copper Embossing powder. Next I stamped it 3 times on the pink DSP pattern and also heat embossed it with copper. The images were then cut out (* hint, hint there are coordinating dies for this set as well coming out as a Sale-A-Bration exclusive). Using my paper snips I cut the three pink images apart at various sizes to layer on top of one another and create a more dimensional flower. I then attached it to the green image.

TIP: Paper piecing is a great easy technique to quickly "colour" a line art image. Try this technique with Designer Series Paper to create different depths of colour like I did here, or use a heavily patterned piece for a different look. Once my flower was made I want to make sure it stayed the star of my project so I layered a few die cuts (remember those coordinating dies I mentioned earlier?) of Vellum Cardstock behind it. Because Lovely Lily Pad is an image only stamp set I paired it with a sentiment from Here's A Card and heat embossed it in white on DSP. A little White Baker's Twine and some bling finishes it off nicely while keeping the image the main focal pint.
