Such a great sketch, right?! As soon as I saw that large circle focal point I immediately thought of the large sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set.
I stated with a Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock base then layer on a piece of DSP from the In Good Taste pack that was matted with Soft Suede Cardstock. I love how this particular pattern of DSP look dimensional, as if it has real texture! It created the perfect backdrop to that gorgeous bloom.
Now, to bring the sunflower to life I grabbed a handful of my beloved Stampin' Blends Markers. I stamped the images on Whisper White Thick Cardstock and die cut them out using the coordinating Sunflowers Dies. For the petals I used both the Light and Dark So Saffron and Daffodil Delight Markers. Starting with the darkest colour first then blending in the lighter. The leaf was coloured using both the Light and Dark Old Olive markers. TIP: Die cutting an image leaves a distinct border around the outside of the image, to help it blend in better to the background I used the Light Crumb Cake marker to colour it in.
