TGIF Challenges #126 - Colourful Blossoms

It's Friday and that means another great challenge on the TGIF Challenges Blog!

This week we have a super bright and fun colour challenge. These colours aren't usually in my wheelhouse, but that is what is so great about playing along with creative challenges!

When I first looked at these colours, they clearly called for some fun, whimsical images and cute sayings. However, although I love those types of images when I see them, that is not my usual style. After digging through my hoards of stamps I had nothing that I "thought" would work with them. Then I had a light bulb moment, I needed to get out of my preconceived ideas about what I "thought' should work and just go with something more true to what I like to use. Hmm, do you think there was a needed lesson in all of this for me?

I started with a card base of Thick Whisper White, then die cut Shimmery White Cardstock with both large dies from the Many Layered Blossoms Dies. Before cutting them out I lined the back of the paper with a piece of Adhesive Sheet, this product is a game-changer for intricate dies! This is where the fun began, using all three challenge colours of ink and the Water Brushes I watercoloured the bottom die cut layer. Once dry I attached the more intricate layer.

One of the best things (other than amazing products) that Stampin' Up! has brought into my life are some beautiful friendship with some pretty awesome people. The "Beautiful" word is a laser cut sticker from the Flowers for Every Season Memories & More Kit, I placed it on top of a Stitched Nested Label die cut and stamped the word friend from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set the layered a piece of die cut foliage from the Forever Flourishing Dies and Magenta Madness Ribbon behind it. Surprisingly, that was all the stamping I did, but sometimes that is all that is needed;)
