Welcome back to another challenge at The Spot, your place for inspiration and weekly cardmaking challenges. this week we have a fun colour challenge for you!
If I am being totally honest here, these three colours are probably some of my least used. However, that's why challenges are great, they help us step out of our comfort zones! At first I was sure what I was going to do with the rich jewel tones, but then I was inspired by their "fall feel" and the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set seemed like the perfect choice.
I started with a Thick Whisper White Cardstock base then layered on a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock that had been embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder. Next I located the absolutely perfect piece of DSP from the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper pack and die cut it with a shape from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. It had all three colours in it, making it much easier to utilize the challenge colours.
The main image panel is also a shape die cut from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies (these are seriously a must have), and using both Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry Classic Inks I inked up the two leaf images. First I tapped the stamp on the Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad then using a Sponge Dauber I added some Rich Razzleberry Ink. This created a nice blend of the colours for an Autumn leaves look. The sentiment was stamped in Pretty Peacock Ink and cut apart using Paper Snips.
To add some texture and interest I layered the beautiful Pretty Peacock/Old Olive Reversible Ribbon and a laser cut gold leaf behind the main image then added few Iridescent Pearls to finish the card off.
Now be sure to check out The Spot for some fabulous inspiration, and I hope you can join in on the challenge!
