Welcome back to another challenge at The Spot, your place for inspiration and weekly cardmaking challenges. This week we have a fab technique challenge for you!
The Emboss Resist Technique is such a fun one, with so many possibilities and no other creative restrictions the ideas started swirling! In the end I actually decided to create a relatively simple card using the awesome Press On Stamp Set.
Raise you hand if you are like me and can't start the day without you favourite cup of coffee;) I will admit it, I am a coffee addict and cherish my morning mug. As soon as I saw the Press On Stamp Set I knew I needed it! For today's card I started with a Thick Whisper White Cardstock base and flicked a splattering of Early Espresso Ink from a Stampin' Write Marker to create an interesting background. My thought was it would sort of mimic fine coffee grounds. Next I stamped the coffee bean image using Versamark Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock that was die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. This is where the magic happens, using Sponge Daubers and both Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Inks, I blended the ink all over the paper. The embossed images resist the ink and really make them stand out.
For the main image I stamped the to go coffee cup using Memento Ink and coloured it in using my Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers. I just love how easy these markers make colouring, they blend effortlessly. I then did a little fussy cutting to give the cup some dimension. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of patterned paper from the gorgeous Gilded Autumn Specialty Paper, a little Linen Thread and a few In Color Enamel Dots helped to finish it off.
Now be sure to check out The Spot for some fabulous inspiration, and I hope you can join in on the challenge!
