Welcome back to another challenge at The Spot, your place for inspiration and weekly cardmaking challenges. This week we have a wonderful and timely theme challenge and would love to have you join us!
This week we have a wonderful sketch challenge! Sketches are such a great jumping off point to get your creativity going, and trust me I could really use the help this week! I decided to use a new sneak peek stamp set that will be available to purchase starting January 5th. The Hot Dog Stamp Set is full of cute dog images and fun punny sayings. Although the images are dauschaunds and not basset hounds, I just had to have it! I think we can pretend they are bassets, right?!
This was a really quick and easy card to put together. The Playful Pets Designer Series Paper was perfect to pair with this adorable stamp set. For once I was very literal with the sketch, lol! The die cut stitched circle was coloured with Pool Party Blends Duo to create a gradient wash of colour. I stamped the sentiment twice, once directly on the circle, the second time on a paper scrap, then cut of part of it.
The adorable dog image was coloured with Soft Suede Stampin' Blends Markers and then fussy cut out with Paper Snips. To make him look even more like a basset, I included the signature white tipped tail. Another great way to use the Stampin' Blends is to colour embellishments. Here I used the Dark Basic Black and coloured in several Faceted Gems to create some coordinating bling!
Now be sure to check out The Spot for some fabulous inspiration, and I hope you can join in on the challenge!
