Welcome back to another challenge at The Spot, your place for inspiration and weekly cardmaking challenges. This week we have a fun sketch challenge and would love to have you join us!
Sketch challenges are one of my favourite types of challenges, they are such a great way to get the creative ideas flowing. One of the best things about using a sketch is that it is the perfect jumping off point a totally open for interpretation. For my card I pulled out the gorgeous Pretty Perennials Bundle, paired it with a stitched heart outline from the Be Mine Stitched Dies and the stunning Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper.
The Ombre DSP was perfect for the main layer of my card and to mimic the two toned background in the sketch. I stamped the large floral bloom in Bermuda Bay Classic Ink after stamping off once to create a tone on tone image. I really wanted to focus on the awesome Oh So Ombre DSP and used all 4 shades on my card. Can you believe that you can earn this paper pack for FREE with a qualifying purchase of $60 (CAN)?! 48 6"x6" double sided sheets in Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, Rococo Rose and Blackberry Bliss.
The large flower was stamped 3 times using Crush Curry Classic Ink that was stamped of first to create a softer hue of yellow. I then arranged them with a leaf die cut and layered in some White Baker's Twine. The 'happy" was stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and fussy cut out using my trusty Paper Snips. A few Elegant Faceted Gems add a little bling to finish it off.
Now be sure to check out The Spot for some fabulous inspiration, and I hope you can play along!
