Welcome back to another challenge at The Spot, your place for inspiration and weekly cardmaking challenges. This week we have a fun sketch challenge and would love to have you join us!
This week's challenge is a fun one! I will admit, I usually stick to the same basic card size and do not to a lot of fancy folds or different shapes, but I really love the look of "slimline" card size. Basically a slimline card is a long narrow card shape with either a portrait or landscape orientation. When I "googled" sizing there were a few different dimensions that came up. Traditionally they were 3 5/8" x 8 5/8" or 4 1/8" x 9 1/2", however to make measurements simple from a piece of A4 Cardstock (8 1/2" x 11") I cut a piece into 7" x 8 1/2" and scored so the finished card measures 3 1/2" x 8 1/2". This will fit into a size #9 or #10 business sized envelope.
We are in the last few days of Stampin' Up's Sale-a-Bration promotion, which means only a few more days to earn FREE products! For my card I used the Berry Blessings Stamp Set and Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper Bundle, which you can get for FREE with a $120 (CA) purchase. The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, I then layered on a piece of DSP that almost covers the whole card front. Next I took a piece of Whisper White and repeatedly stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point Classic Ink.
To add some interest to the plain white stamped panel, I layered on a piece of torn Vellum Cardstock. For the main focal point I die cut a circle from DSP with the Stitched Shapes Dies and then added a stamped and die cut a Stitched Rectangle sentiment. Some Navy Twine and a few Opal Rounds add some more texture and a little sparkle.
Now be sure to check out The Spot for some fabulous inspiration, and I hope you can play along!
