Welcome back to another challenge at The Spot, your place for inspiration and weekly cardmaking challenges. This week we have a fun technique challenge and would love to have you join us!
I know it has been awhile since I last posted and truth be told is has been almost two months since I last created anything. Between life throwing a some life changing curve balls my way and packing up and moving my craftroom to another area of our house, I have had very little time or creative energy. The good news is there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I managed to carve out sometime to make a card. I'm a little rusty, but boy did it feel good to get inky again!
What better way to dive right back in then with Stampin' Up's fabulous inks for an Ink Blending Challenge?! I am absolutely in love with the amazing Ink Blending Brushes, they make it quick and easy to softly blend colour across any cardstock. For my card I used Shimmery White Cardstock and Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay Classic Inks and the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks to create a polka dot rainbow of colour.
I started with a Thick Basic White Cardstock base then layered on a piece of embossed Smoky Slate. The Subtle Embossing Folder has to be one of my most used folders and sadly it is retiring (so make sure if you don't have it you order it before May 4th). I wanted to highlight some of my retiring and new favourite products, so this card also has a fun sneak peek.
The Strong & Beautiful Stamp Set is one of my all time favorite sets and you can bet the I will be keeping it in my stash after it retires. This is the perfect sentiment to express how very much you appreciate those special friends. I am fortunate enough to have an amazing group of friends that helped keep me sane during the past several months when things really seemed to being caving in around me. They truly have been the "rainbow" coming through the clouds.
Sneak peek alert- so how did I create those clouds? Well starting May 4th when the new SU! Annual Catalogue launches, you can order these fabulous new Basic Border Dies, trust me when I say you will definitely want them! Another retiring favourite that I used on todays card are the gorgeous Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, i may have stocked up on those;)
Now be sure to check out The Spot for some fabulous inspiration, and I hope you can play along!
All products I have used for today's project are listed below with a direct link to my online store for easy shopping.
