It's time for me to be back blog hopping with my incredibly talented friends from the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that love to think outside the box and come up with inspiring alternate samples using the current Paper Pumpkin Kit. Today we are featuring the June 2021 Expression In Color Kit. It coordinates perfectly with the Expressions In Ink Suite of products from the Annual Catalogue and focuses heavily on the new Stampin' Up! 2021-2023 In Colours.
What is Paper Pumpkin? Paper Pumpkin is Stampin' Up's monthly One-Stop Box™ that offers a unique variety of paper projects for people of any skill level to enjoy! Paper Pumpkin makes creativity easy. Each month a fully designed project kit arrives in an adorable box filled with stamps, ink and paper – everything cut and ready to go. These thoughtfully-themed and all-inclusive craft kits encourage you to explore creativity, try new techniques, and discover the potential in papercrafting.
The Expressions In Ink Suite is one of my absolutely favourite suites from the new catalogue, so I was thrilled when I first learned that this kit was created to go with it perfectly! To create my two cards I took elements from the kit and combined them with the Artistically Ink Bundle and Expression In Ink DSP. these cards were so fun and easy to put together.
For this card I started with a Basic White card base thin layered on a piece of that gorgeous Designer Series Paper. The gold foil is so pretty! To get the most from my kits I like to take pieces from then and make them stretch. Here I took one of the pre cut vellum layers and tore it in half, by doing so I had a piece for two cards instead of one. Also by tearing it I was able to add a fun element of texture. I then added a strip of DSP and place a die cut left that was cut from Ombre Vellum using the Artistic Dies. I absolutely love a big bold sentiment and the printed vellum die cuts in the kit are fantastic. To make them have more impact I coloured the back of the vellum word with Stampin' Blend Alcohol Markers.
For this card I opted for a more monochromatic feel and decided on a horizontal orientation this time. The card base is Basic White, next I took one of the Evening Evergreen cards from the kit and cut it in half. I then stamped it with a leaf image from the Artistically Inked stamp set in the matching ink colour. To give some interest I then cut those pieces into strips and arranged them haphazardly on a pretty piece of striped gold foiled DSP. The torn vellum was then attached along with the coloured die cut vellum sentiment. I stamped the "for everything" from the kit stamp set directly on the printed vellum piece using StazOn Ink.
Be sure to check out the inspiring projects my talented friends have created to share this month!
