It's Friday and that means another great challenge on the TGIF Challenges Blog! We LOVE bringing you weekly paper-crafting inspiration, and are so excited to have you join us. We have a really fun colour challenge for you. It's bright and cheery and perfect for Summer!
This fun, fresh colour combination immediately had me thinking of flowers. So I pull out the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle and got to work! now I will admit I am not much of a purple girl, especially when it comes to paper crafting, but Fresh Freesia is such a pretty version.
I started with a Basic White card base then layered on a Stitched Rectangle die cut piece of Fresh Freesia Gingham DSP from Pansy Petals Pack. Next I die cut some Shimmery White Cardstock with one of the tags from the Tailor Made Tags die set. These dies are a must have, I can definitely see myself using them a lot. Shimmery White is the perfect medium for adding a watercolour wash. Using a Water Brush and Granny Apple Green Ink I swept colour across the paper until I hard my desired result. TIP: Use a Heat Tool to speed up drying and help move the ink around to create more interest. Using the penned Flowers Dies I cut out the delicate floral image from the gorgeous In Colour Shimmer Vellum in Purple Posy.
Here you can really see the the vellum shine. The sentiment was stamped on Basic Black cardstock using Whisper White Craft Ink, then heat embossed with White Embossing from the Stampin' Emboss Powder Basics. A few Polished Polished Pink gems from the In Colour Jewels were added for some extra shimmer.
I hope you can join us this week and make sure to check out the TGIF challenge blog for some more awesome inspiration!
This is so pretty. I am loving the gingham and your die cut over the green ink is GORGEOUS. Beautiful design.
