This week we are hosting an Inspiration Challenge, bring on the Vacation Vibes! Whether that might be warm sandy beaches, mountain top views or camping in the great outdoor, the ideas are endless for what "vacation" can mean to you. so let your imagination run wild and join us!
I don't know about you but after close to a year and a half of sticking very close to home, I am dreaming of somewhere warm and tropical to escape to. Although we won't leaving on a jet plane anytime soon, I certainly can dream about it;). So, naturally I pulled out the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set and coordinating In The Tropics Dies.
I chose a soft fresh summer colour palette for this card, one that I feel invokes sunshine and beachy vibes.
To create my card I first started Shimmery White cardstock and die cut with a scalloped stitched rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I find ink blending on Shimmery White creates such a pretty effect. Using the Blending Brushes I blended Calypso Coral, Mango Melody and a little Bumblebee Classic Ink. Pale Papaya Ink was used to stamp the hibiscus floral image on top, the ink was first stamped off to create a more subtle shade. Shimmery White was also used to the card base, which was layered with a piece of Designer Series Paper from the beautiful Hand-Penned pack. One of the things I love to do is stamp on DSP, it is an instant way to give more interest and texture to a project. Here, I lightly stamped the palm tree images using the coordinating ink. To also create more texture I distressed the edges of the paper.
It's no secret I love using dies and especially love die cut words, so one product that I can't live with out is the Foam Adhesive Sheets. Not only to they make the die cut really "pop", it also is great for easily adhering the die cuts to your project. Here I attached a piece to Basic Black Cardstock and then ran through the Aloha die through my Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine. The delicate little flowers and leaves were also die cut using the In The Tropics Dies with Shimmery White Card Stock. To add a little colour to the leave I blended on Pear Pizzazz Ink.
I hope you can join us this week and make sure to check out the TGIF challenge blog for some more awesome inspiration!
