Well August seemed to come and go in the blink of an eye and we are busily preparing for the return of school. I have enjoyed the long lazy summer days but I would be kidding myself if didn't say that I am looking forward to September and the return to routine that it brings. (in other words the kids are going squirelly and we are all starting to get on each other's nerves:)

So with August coming to an end it means Studio Calico's September Kits are here!

I was so excited when I received this kit because I am a big lover and patterened paper and this months paper pad has 23 different sheets! And also it is no secret that I am a stamper; I love stamps and this month's set is huge! Just look at those gorgeous large sentiments and all of those images and phrases to go with them, makes my heart happy:)

So here is what I did with the Main Card Kit:

 

 

And for the first time Studio Calico is offering just stamps for the Card Add ons. They are all so awesome!  

 

 

For this card I used the adorable Jar stamp set designed by 1Canoe2 and papers from the main card kit.

And for this card I used the Back to School set designed by the amazingly talented Suzy Plant. All of the images are just way too cute!

This incredible Circles Set was created by Splendid Fiins exclusively for Studio Calico.

Okay I am totally in love with this awesome Rocket stamp set created by Life.Love.Paper. That Tina is pure genius, love all that she does. She also created this totally cool Catus stamp set as well.

I can't believe it is time to reveal Studio Calico's August Kits! I don't know about you but summer is flying by and I have been so busy enjoying the sunshine and time with the kids that very little crafting has been happening.

That is one of the reasons I just love recieving my kits every month, I have everything I need to create projects quickly because all of the products are perfectly selected for me. It takes the thinking out of what to use and what goes with what. And I always make sure to find a little time for some paper crafting - it's my therapy;)

The August SANDLOT Card Kit is full of goodness. Gorgeous bold graphic papers, a super sweet stamp set, ribbon and candy coloured buttons.

 

 

The Card Add On Squints stole my heart with it's gorgeous watercoloured inspired flower stamps and versitile sentiments plus fabulous wood veneer labels, enamel dots and yummy ribbon.

A must for me every month are the incredible Printables that coordinate so perfectly with the kits. And what I love most about them is that the images also come in individual PNG images so that I can use them on digital and hybrid projects. 

And this month I also had a ton of fun creating my own patterned paper using the Card Kit Digital Stamp Brushes and a single Printable PNG label image.

Penny Arcade Revealed

Step on up and claim your prize at the Penny Arcade! These kits are full of fun whimsical patterns mixed with graphic designs and loaded with wonderful embillishments including yummy wide ribbon.

This card is more cutesy then I usually make but i just couldn't help it-those cloud images paired with the cute little smiley face are just too adorable! I also needed to add some soft "sprinkles" of colour using the awesome Color Theory Inks in Coral Bay, Blush Crush , Mint Hint and Sunny Day.

Can't get enough of that gorgeous striped ribbon! I added a few stitches to it here and then used some amazing digital cut files that I resized to fit my card front. The digi shop this month is bursting with awesome printables, cut files, digital stamp brushes and templates.

 

Sometimes I just love creating a card where the stamp set get to be the star. That's exactly what I did here with this gorgeous set from 1Canoe2 from the Pinball Add on. I created a background using the floral stamp image and Versamark. I love how this ink creates a watermarked image, just slightly darker then the cardstock you are stamping on to create a nice tone on tone image. I then stamped the image again on watercolour paper with Versamark and embossed it using Black ZING powder, then watercoloured using inks.

Along with an amazing stamp set, the Pinball add on has a gorgeous ribbon, beatiful papers and I am loving the silver accent pieces like the little label and doilly.

For this card I decided to really showcase several of the patterned papers and add lots of fun stitching. So glad I am friends with my sewing machine again:)

It's Almost Time!

The clock is quickly counting down on Studio Calico's July's Kits reveal and I can't wait for all of you to see what Penny Arcade is all about! 

But for now I can show you a little peek at what I did with the Main Card Kit as well as the Pinball Card Kit Add on and there are even a few exclusive stamp sets and matching dies coming out with this reveal (insert squeal here:)

 

This cute little cloud image just makes me happy!

And for this card (and actually several of my cards this month) I even dusted off my sewing machine and put my Cameo to work with some incredible cut files that are being released this month. I can not wait for the Cameo Basic's class to start so I can even get more of my Cameo!

The Pinball Add On is full of gorgeous papers and embelishments but those Stamps!? The set was created by 1Canoe2 and the images are just so awesome! Love every single one of them.

This card has a mix of both the Main Penny Arcade Card Kit as well as the PInball Add On.

 

And for this card here I used some papers from the Pinball Add on Kit and the new Birthday and Craft Die Stamp set. The "birthday" die is such a nice font, for this card I used it to cut out the word from the silhouette Printable Gold Foil paper.

Looking at the Negative!

I am happy to share that today I am up on the Studio Calico Blog with a fun challenge! Now don't let the title of today's post fool you, there is nothing hostile about the challenge,lol. I am asking you to use your negative spage. You know the space that is left behind on paper after you cut out a shape with your manual or digital cutter. You can go directly to my post HERE.

I created two cards for my Office Hours Gallery using this technique.

Since today is the International Day of Awesomeness I thought it only fitting to share this card that I made from the Water Cooler Add on. I created a fun interactive shaker card by utilizing the negative cuts from one of the word digital stamps from Studio Calico's Office Hours Project Life Kit Digital Stamps + Coordinating Blank Cuts. I just simply traced the words in my Silhouette Cameo and then cut away!

Checking in to the Office

It is almost time to Clock in for OFFICE HOURS! A preppy combination of navy, kelly green and pink sets the mood for Studio Calico's March Kits.

I know I have said this many times before and at the risk of sounding disingenuous, I have to say it again-these kits just keep getting better and better every month! Honstly I just love the fact that there is a company out there that puts together a paper crafting kit that saves me so much time when creating. It takes all of the mundane prep work out of having to choose paper, embellishments etc. before I even get started on my project. I am being completely honest here when I say that I really love having a kit come to my house every month. It's a little box of happy that I can count on each month and it helps to keep me creative and using my supplies. 

Here's a little peek at what I have been up to this month using both the Office Hour Card Kit and the Water Cooler Add on:

These 4 cards were all created using just the main card kit.

And these 2 were made using the Water Cooler Add on, my new best friend the Silhouette Cameo and some of the awesome Digi Files for March!

Sneaking in with a few more peeks at Sugar Rush

Studio Calico's February Kits Sugar Rush are only several hours away from being revealed, so I thought I would quickly pop in with a few more peeks at the cards I made for this month's gallery. I also wanted to share some of my must have items that I used along with my kits.

Here is a look at the upcoming kits:

I used a lot of the Digital Files this month and they were so fun and easy to work with. These digital card kit stamp brushes were a must have for me! Love how affordable and easy they are to use. The other cool thing is they come with blank cut files that can be used with the Sillouette machine-no more fussy cutting needed!

I had a ton of fun with this one creating a collage style card using both the Sugar Rush Card Kit and Taffy Card Kit Add On.  (links will go live for non-subscribers at midnight EST Jan 28th) 

This card is another little peek at just using the main Card Kit. I have a huge crush on Sugar Rush! So many possibilities with the stamp set that is included in this kit, they are really versitile.

So here is a list of my must haves:

~ZING Embossing Poder gives such a great pop to any project; Gold Glitter ZING and Aqua Opague ZING are some of my favourites at the moment

~AC This to That Adhesive Tape Runner has become my go to adhesive and I am so excited that Studio Calico is now carrying the 3 Pack of Refills

~ The Digital items for Sugar Rush are so amazing! I just had to have all of the Printables and Digital Stamp Brushes
