It's time again for me to be back blog hopping with my incredibly talented friends from the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that love to think outside the box and come up with inspiring alternate samples using the current Paper Pumpkin Kit.
Paper Pumpkin by Stampin’ Up! makes creativity easy. Each month a fully designed project kit arrives in an adorable box filled with stamps, ink and paper – everything cut and ready to go.This month’s cheerful kit contains fun die-cut shapes, simple sentiments, and whimsical embellishments that can be used to accent the boldly-patterned coordinating card bases and envelopes. It also includes four of the five limited edition Stampin’ Up! In Colors for 2020-2022, plus a Stampin’ Up! In Color from the 2019-2021 collection.
As soon as I received my kit and saw the contents I immediately knew I wanted to create a scrapbook page featuring our youngest daughter. She personifies sunshine with her amazing sunny disposition and despite all the rain and struggles life has sent her way, she has always been able to find the rainbows. I am pretty sure in her 13 years of life so far she has taught me more than I could ever teach her. She recently just celebrated her birthday and of course, with all the current restrictions in place and social distancing requirements, we couldn't throw a traditional party. She took it all in stride and did not complain once, little did she know we were planning a big surprise, and we actually pulled it off without her suspecting a thing. We decorated the outside of the house and just before dinner time she heard a commotion outside. There was a parade of friends (keeping 6 feet apart, of course) in decorated cars and on foot with balloons and noisemakers letting her know how special she is. Definitely a birthday she will not soon forget!
I started with a 12x12 piece of Whisper White Cardstock and added two strips of patterned paper from the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper. I used several pieces of the kit components to create this layout. Including pieces of the card bases to create mats for the photos, die cuts pieces and puffy stickers, but my favourite part of this layout is the fun effect the tissue paper from the box added. I cut two small pieces into strips then cut a fringe along the edge. It not only creates some whimsy to the page but adds texture and interest. TIP: When creating a project look at how you can use something in a different or nontraditional way to add interest.
Another thing that I knew I need to add to my page was some bling! Not only does she sparkle with her dynamic personality she loves glitter. Using the Stitched star Dies I cut out several stars from Gold Glimmer Paper and spread them out over the page. I'm so happy with how this layout turned out, but most importantly she loves it too! This kit was such a fun one to work with and I will definitely be putting together some cards with it as well.
Now be sure to check out what the rest of my talented friends created!
Now here is some info on next month's kit that I am sure you will want to get your hands on.
